Oops! My Billionaire Boss Fell for Five Versions of Me! Chapter 12

Oops! My Billionaire Boss Fell for Five Versions of Me! Chapter 12

It was late. The second the butler finished making up the room, I passed out.

The next morning, Nathaniel was already waiting downstairs.

“Get in.”

“Mr. Ashford, I can take the subway…”

“I’ll drive you.”

Nathaniel had never shown up to work on time in his life. Most days he didn’t show up at all.

“The subway costs money. Riding with me doesn’t.”

This man knew exactly how to get to me.

I got in that car so fast I practically left a blur behind. I completely missed the way his eyes softened

as I climbed in.

So the CEO and his assistant riding to work together became the hottest gossip in the building. And

it only got worse.

“I heard Harper’s got Ashford wrapped around her finger.”

“They’ve been together for a while. You didn’t know?”

“They’re literally living together now!”

I had no idea any of that was happening. I was too busy rotating through my side hustles to notice.

Assistant by morning, burrito vendor at noon, coffee stand boss in the afternoon, fruit stand by

evening. I was spinning more plates than a circus performer.

The one new development worth mentioning was that Nathaniel told me I could stay at his place until I found a new apartment. No rent. We drove to work together every morning. Convenient.

Why didn’t we ride home together? Because I had stands to run. I didn’t get home until the last

customer was served.

But tonight was different.

The company threw a team outing. The plan was to keep it light and slip out early for my shift.

But someone kept refilling my glass. By my fourth glass, the room was tilting.

By the time I realized I was in trouble, my whole body had gone boneless.

“Harper?” A hand caught my arm. Nathaniel.

His voice was close. “You okay?”

I looked up. He smelled like clean laundry and mint. My brain dissolved.

“…I wanna sleep.”

I wanted to sleep. Specifically, in his outrageously soft bed.

“Okay. I’ll take you home.”

“No.” I grabbed his tie. “I wanna sleep with you…”

His breath hitched.

I opened my eyes to daylight spilling through the curtains.

The bed was impossibly soft. The scent on the sheets was familiar.

I blinked. Someone was lying next to me. Nathaniel.

His bathrobe hung open at the collar, showing a sliver of collarbone. His hair was still damp at the

ends.

I froze for a full minute.

…Did I do something last night?

My heart was hammering. This was not the heart rate of an employee waking up next to her boss.

I forced myself to breathe.

“Last night… I drank too much, right?”

Nathaniel’s face was doing something complicated. His ears were on fire.

“Mm.”

My lungs seized. “I… I didn’t…?”

Nathaniel looked away. “You started it.”

My jaw dropped.

“You ripped my shirt open.”

I stopped breathing.

“And you kissed me.”

I turned to stone.

Oh my god. I’d slept with my boss. And he didn’t fire me.

No, no, no. This was dangerous.

I yanked the blanket up to my chin. “We can’t cross this line. Workplace relationships compromise

productivity.”
