Noah did not close his eyes the entire night.

Every time he shut them, he saw Helen’s tear-stained eyes.

He remembered Helen’s final plea to him.

“Noah, my mother is in the hospital emergency room right now. I beg you, please let me go see her…”

She was begging him, begging him to choose her, begging him to save her.

Three days later, upon his discharge from the hospital, Noah received a call from Oliver.

Just as he was about to lash out, Oliver said he wanted to talk about Helen.

Noah suppressed his raging fury and drove to an abandoned warehouse according to the location sent to

him.

He pushed the door open, and the scent of mold wafted from the dust-covered space.

Tied up near a pile of clutter were two women, crying and begging for mercy.

It was Hanna and Jessica.

Noah frowned, glaring at the grim-faced Oliver standing nearby.

“What the hell is wrong with you now?”

He did not give a damn what Oliver did to Hanna.

But Jessica was still his fiancé in name only.

She was a victim in the kidnapping case too!

How dare Oliver touch his people?

Before Noah could lose his temper, Oliver shoved his phone in front of him.

His voice was deadpan. “See for yourself.”

Jessica’s face turned deathly pale, and she screamed at Noah, “It’s not like that, Noah! Don’t believe him…”

Noah hesitantly took the phone.

On the screen was a security footage from the Summit.

In the video, Jessica was surrounded and cornered by several girls.

Helen stepped in to defend her, shielding her behind her back.

Seeing Helen’s figure in the video sent a sharp ache through Noah’s chest.

But the next scene turned his entire body cold.

Jessica threw herself backward on purpose. Helen lunged forward in a panic but missed her.

Immediately after, his own figure appeared in the frame, diving into the pool to rescue Jessica.

Jessica then pointed the finger, claiming Helen pushed her into the water.

At the time, he had not doubted Jessica’s words for a second.

After all, from his angle that day, it really looked like Helen had pushed her.

But the surveillance tape laid out the truth clearly.

Jessica fell in on her own just to frame Helen.

Noah stared at Jessica in utter disbelief.

He grit his teeth and demanded, “Why?”

Knowing she could no longer hide it, Jessica snapped and shrieked like a madwoman.

“Because I love you! I was terrified Helen would steal you away from me!”

“Noah, the night of the engagement party, I saw everything…”

She sobbed, “The two of you in the hallway…”

Noah could no longer process a single word Jessica was saying.

He remembered that day in the hospital room.

Helen said, “I didn’t push Jessica. She jumped in herself.”

But how did he answer her?

“You think I’ll ever believe you again?”

“Jessica helped me when I was at my lowest. She’s kind-hearted, unlike a vain gold-digger like you. You have

no right to slander her!”

How could he have been so blind to the sheer disappointment and heartbreak in Helen’s eyes?

Oliver let out a cold laugh. “You think that’s all?”

As soon as the words left his mouth, two badly beaten men were tossed in front of Noah.

Noah instantly recognized them as the kidnappers who had taken Helen and the others that day.

Blinded by fury, he grabbed one of them by the collar and slammed a vicious punch into his face.

The man spat out a bloody tooth, his mouth covered in gore.

The other kidnapper scrambled backward in terror, begging frantically.

“It has nothing to do with us! Those two ladies put us up to it!”

Only then did Noah realize that the kidnapping that day was never targeted at him or Oliver.

It was a trap orchestrated entirely by Hanna and Jessica.

Even if Helen had not jumped into the ocean to end her life that day, they were prepared to ruin her reputation

completely.

Oliver had always been ruthless and cold-blooded.

When he loved someone, he could give her the world.

Once that love turned to dust, he had a thousand ways to make her life a living hell.

Looking at Hanna and Jessica, who were tortured within an inch of their lives.

Noah felt absolutely no satisfaction from the revenge.

He stared blankly at Oliver, who looked on the verge of losing his mind.

His voice was hollow and filled with sorrow.

“Oliver, the ones who deserve to die are us.”

The salt-watered whip slipped from Oliver’s hand and hit the floor.

His shoulders trembled slightly, and the murderous aura around him vanished instantly.

It took him a long time to speak, his voice laced with endless exhaustion and regret.
