My Yandere Online Boyfriend Slept Next Door Chapter 06

I shot back,

“You’re the one who told me not to be a good girl-to go wild, remember?”

Serena forced a smile. “I was joking. Don’t take it seriously.”

“Besides, you were doing it for me.”

“The spicier, the better-I can meet him tonight.”

“I’ll set it up now. You focus on work.”

She walked back to her desk.

Something twisted in my chest.

It felt like I’d spent six months nurturing a flower, watering it by hand—

and now I had to hand it over, pot and all.

The moment it left my hands, I realized I’d grown attached.

I told myself it was never mine.

I was just taking care of it.

I got paid.

Serena and I had agreed from the start-

once I landed him, she’d take over and read everything.

Rules were rules.

The online relationship was officially hers now.

I needed to move on.

After work, I went back to the hotel, ordered takeout, and showered quickly.

I opened my laptop at the desk.

Six months ago, I’d passed the entrance exam for the Global Finance Management Institute-

a program run by top business schools, with alumni that read like a who’s who of global finance. Only thirty slots per cohort.

Twenty were reserved for industry elites who could pay the hundred-thousand-dollar tuition.

The other ten were filled through an open exam.

Thousands applied worldwide.

I ranked third.

Tuition was twenty thousand.

I’d saved fifty thousand over two years of working.

Still needed thirty more.

That’s why I’d said yes to Serena.

She was in the same program-her father had bought her way in.

Two classes a week, every week.

She’d already missed two.

One more absence and she’d be disqualified.

I opened the window to let the night air in.

A familiar Maybach pulled into the five-star hotel across the street.

Knox’s car. Plates: 7777.

The comments scrolled across my screen.

Knox and Serena are meeting tonight at the presidential suite.

Serena just soaked in a rose-petal bath. She’s wearing an NJ lace nightgown.

They’re perfect for each other-mysterious rich guy and the bank president’s daughter.

Their personalities balance out too.

Knox is possessive; Serena loves the nightlife.

I can already picture him dragging her out of a club.

So good. So worth watching.

So Serena chose tonight.

I checked the class timer.

Three minutes to go.

Serena was already absent.

If she missed this one, that was her third strike.

Her father had pulled strings to get her in-money, connections, effort.

All gone.

But that wasn’t my problem.

I pulled the curtains shut, logged in, and joined the session.

Serena’s name was grayed out.

I focused on the screen and let the rest fade.
