My Three Roommates Used My Photos to Catfish Three Elite Alphas Chapter 09

Claire rushed over and dug her fingers into my arm.

For the first time, the usually quiet girl’s face twisted with panic.

“Did Lucas say anything strange to you just now?”

I calmly asked, “What exactly would count as strange?”

She was no longer trying to hide her panic, and tears were already gathering in her eyes.

Sophia frowned and gave me an accusing look.

When they learned that Lucas had called me “sweetheart” the moment we met, then admitted he had mistaken me for someone else after I denied knowing him, Sophia immediately relaxed.

Claire, however, was still nervous. She lowered her head and typed rapidly on her phone.

Sophia forced a smile and tried to reassure me.

“Plenty of people look alike. Erin, don’t read too much into it.”

Before we could say anything else, a staff member called all the greeters together.

After working all day, I returned to our on-campus apartment that evening and found Claire crying so hard she could barely breathe.

Sophia explained that the department’s administrative office had informed Claire that afternoon that her scholarship for the semester had been revoked.

Her academic advisor refused to tell her why.

I spread my hands as though it hardly mattered.

“Her boyfriend has given her so much money. It’s only a scholarship. If it’s gone, it’s gone.”

Claire choked out, “The department posted the announcement directly in our class group chat.”

Because the notice had been made public, rumors were already spreading among her classmates.

Some people claimed Claire had been involved with an older married man and that his wife had filed a complaint with the university.

I smiled faintly.

“Since your boyfriend is so wealthy, he must know plenty of influential people.”

“Ask him to help you get your scholarship back. Once he does, the rumors will disappear on their own.”

Claire immediately shook her head.

I encouraged her, “You haven’t even asked him. How do you know he won’t help?”

She clearly began to hesitate.

Sophia, however, stopped her at once.

She sent me away, then quietly explained the situation to Claire.

Lucas was both a distinguished alumnus and the Alpha of the Rainier Pack. If he used his connections to investigate Claire’s student records, he would inevitably see her real photo.

Then every lie would be exposed.

The commenters started sympathizing with Sophia again.

[The heroine has it so hard. If she weren’t afraid Claire would expose her too, she wouldn’t even bother getting involved.]

[This is all Erin’s fault. If Lucas hadn’t seen her, why would Claire have been punished? The heroine wouldn’t have to spend every day worrying that their lies might be exposed either.]

I had no interest in responding to commenters who were completely incapable of telling right wrong.

Just as I was about to keep listening, a message from Ethan suddenly appeared on my phone.
