My Sister Wanted The God, I Got The Beast In Bed Chapter 04

That night, we didn’t sleep. I did bite him. Right on the shoulder — a neat crescent of tooth marks.

He didn’t mind. If anything, it only spurred him on — something wilder slipping through the gentleness, though he never once stopped checking on me.

We went from the bed to the table, then to the couch by the window.

I’d mistaken the soft smile and the gentle exterior for the whole picture. Between the sheets, Julian was a completely different animal.

And the man knew exactly what he was doing. Every time, without fail, he found the spot that made me shake — until the only words I had left were please, stop, and don’t stop.

He didn’t stop until the first pale light leaked through the window, and even then, I could tell he wasn’t finished — just merciful.

He carried me to the bath like I was made of glass, nuzzling into my neck the whole way, looking thoroughly pleased with himself.

“You’re amazing,” Julian murmured. “We’re having a whole litter of little serpents. I’ve decided.”

I was too spent to lift a finger. I mumbled something incoherent against his chest and passed out.

In my dream, there were no frozen caves, no endless meditating. Just peach blossoms in the courtyard, and a voice that kept calling me darling.

The next morning, Julian kissed me awake.

“Time to get up, darling. We have to present ourselves to the elders.”

He was already dressed, looking fresh and rested — not a single trace of a man who’d been up all night doing what he’d done to me.

I, on the other hand, could barely feel my legs. My thighs ached, my body was covered in marks that left nothing to the imagination.

“I can’t get up…” I groaned, burying my face in the blankets.

Julian laughed softly and scooped me up, blankets and all. “Then I’ll dress you myself.”

After the small ordeal of making me presentable, we made it to the great hall of the serpent Clan. Valerie and Gideon were already there.

Valerie looked awful — ashen skin, dark bruises under her eyes, and a slight unsteadiness in her step that she was trying hard to hide. The cold had done that to her. The cold and the fear.

The moment she saw me walk in on Julian’s arm — flushed, glowing, practically radiating satisfaction — jealousy flared across her face like a struck match.

“Sleep well last night, Flora?” Valerie’s smile could have cut glass. “You can barely stand straight. Let me guess — your useless husband couldn’t do his duty, so you spent the night fuming?”

In Valerie’s mind, weak magic meant weak stamina in bed. She assumed my wobbly legs were from a miserable night, not a spectacular one.

I leaned into Julian’s chest and smiled, letting a blush creep up. “Oh, you’ve got it backwards, Valerie. My husband is… very capable.”

“But you — you don’t look so good yourself. Did Gideon spend all night building his magic and forget you were there?”

Valerie flinched like I’d stepped on a nerve. “That’s ridiculous! My husband was… very attentive last night!” she snapped.

“He has the stamina of a future Divine Lord. I’m just a little worn out — from all the attention.”

To prove her point, she sidled up to Gideon and leaned into him. Gideon’s face twisted with disgust and he stepped sideways. Valerie stumbled into empty air, nearly pitching forward onto the floor.

“Stand straight.” Two words, cold as a blade.

Valerie snapped upright, her face mottled red with humiliation. Around the hall, the serpent elders exchanged looks.

Julian squeezed my hand, barely containing a laugh. “Gideon, disciplined as ever — truly an example to us all.”

“But now that Valerie’s joined the family, you might consider easing up a little. It’d be a shame if your bride spent every night sleeping cold and alone.”

“Pathetic.” Gideon’s gaze was ice. “You’ll always be a weakling — good for nothing but chasing skirts.”

“We’ll see how long that smile lasts at the Clan competition.”

“Maybe so.” Julian’s smile didn’t waver. “But right now? I’m the happiest man alive. That counts for something.”

After the morning gathering, we filed out of the hall. Valerie cut me off before I reached the doors.

Her eyes locked onto the marks scattered across my neck, and her nails bit into her own palms. “Julian is worthless, Flora,” she hissed. “He can’t give you a future.”

“When Gideon ascends next year and I’m Divine Queen, I’ll squash you like a bug without a second thought.”

I smoothed my collar and gave her a smile so serene it belonged in a museum. “Then I’ll be waiting, Valerie.”

“But you look awful, and your aura is completely drained. Maybe worry less about my future and more about surviving long enough to see yours. It’d be such a shame if you dropped dead before the Ascension.”

Valerie lunged at me. Julian stepped between us before her hand got close.

“Careful, Valerie.” The warmth had drained from Julian’s voice, and his eyes had gone flat and still. “Touch her, and I’ll personally suggest Gideon find another bride.”
