My Power Showed Me His Cheating An Hour Earlier Chapter 05

The words landed, and the room went dead silent for a beat.

Garrett stood beside me, brow furrowing slightly.

“Mia?”

I didn’t look at him. I just kept speaking into the microphone. –

“Thank you, Garrett.”

“For making me wait until my wedding day to finally see who he actually wanted to marry.”

“And thank you, Celine.”

“For teaching me that all those years I spent paying for her education, covering her living expenses, and

loving her like a little sister, all I raised was a snake.

The room erupted.

Celine’s face drained of color. She shot to her feet.

“Mia, what are you talking about?”

“This is your wedding day. Stop joking around.”

I looked at her.

“Joking?”

“Celine, you’re the one who loves jokes.”

“So today’s joke should be your favorite.”

I looked up at the wedding planner.

“Play it.”

The next second, the big screen went dark.

Then it lit up again.

The footage was from a fixed camera in the bridal suite.

On screen, Celine was draped in the veil my mother had left me, sitting at the vanity.

Garrett leaned down and kissed her.

She said they shouldn’t be doing this, but her arms were locked tight around his neck.

When they tumbled onto the couch, the veil slipped off and drifted down beneath them.

A few pearls tore loose and rolled into the carpet.

The entire ballroom went silent as a grave.

Then a wave of gasps ripped through the crowd.

“Oh my God…’

“This was before the ceremony?”

“Is that the bride’s veil?”

“That is disgusting.”

Garrett’s face went white in an instant.

He lunged toward the control booth.

“Turn it off!”

“Who told you to play this?”

But the wedding planner had already stepped aside.

I’d given the instructions in advance.

Today, this video would play in full.

On the screen, Celine’s voice was still going.

“Garrett, you’re so bad.”

“That’s the veil Mia’s mom left her.”

“If she ever found out you used it to cushion me before the wedding…”

She didn’t finish the sentence.

Garrett shut her up with a kiss.

The room finally lost it completely.

Garrett’s mother shot to her feet, her face terrifyingly pale.

“Garrett!”

Her voice shook.

“Have you lost your mind?”

“That was something Mia’s mother left behind!”

His father slammed his palm on the table so hard the wine glasses rattled.

“You worthless piece of trash!”

“All these relatives and friends here today, and you’ve dragged the Holloway name through the mud!”

Celine’s parents sat frozen in their seats.

Her mother was the first to react. She rushed over and slapped Celine hard across the face.

The crack echoed through the entire ballroom.

Celine clutched her cheek, staring at her mother in disbelief.

“Mom…”

Mrs. Marsh was shaking with rage.

“Don’t call me that!”

“That girl paid for your school. She covered your bills. She treated you like her own sister.”

“And this is how you repay her?”

Mr. Marsh stood up too, his face dark as iron.

“Celine, our family may not have money, but we never taught you to steal another woman’s man!”

“And we sure as hell never taught you to do something this shameless right before someone’s wedding!”
