My Power Showed Me His Cheating An Hour Earlier Chapter 01

My Power Showed Me His Cheating An Hour Earlier Chapter 01

I have an ability I can never tell anyone about.

Whenever I shared a quiet moment with my boyfriend, I would see what he had been doing exactly one hour earlier.

What I used to see was beautiful.

Him sneaking around to set up a surprise with lingerie he was too embarrassed to buy in person. Him standing in a downpour, waiting in line for the pastries I loved. Him clutching a ring box, rehearsing his proposal over and over, voice shaking with nerves.

Seven years together, and his “one hour ago” always had something to do with me.

Until three days before the wedding.

He kissed me, and a scene flashed behind my eyes.

A dim lounge. Garrett and my best friend Celine stood close together by the door.

Celine’s voice trembled, half-sobbing.

“We can’t keep doing this!”

“Mia is my best friend. I can’t do this to her…”

But Garrett leaned closer to her. His voice was so hoarse it didn’t even sound like him.

“I’m marrying her in three days.”

“Let’s just pretend this is the last time we cross the line.”

The image vanished as quickly as it came.

Back in reality, Garrett was still holding me, gently stroking my cheek.

“Mia, we’re getting married soon.”

“Are you happy?”

I looked into his tender, loving eyes, and a small laugh slipped out of me.

So his “one hour ago” had finally made room for someone else.

Garrett finished speaking and leaned down to kiss me again.

His lips landed on my face with the same gentleness I’d felt a thousand times before. There was even a certain tenderness to it, the kind that comes right before a wedding.

But my body went rigid.

The next second, another vision flooded in.

Celine looked slightly disheveled. Her makeup was slightly smudged in a messy streak. She was curled up in Garrett’s arms, playing coy.

“Mia’s so skinny. Do you think she’ll even be able to fill out a wedding dress?”

“I went with her to try on the main gown today, and it just looked empty on her.”

Garrett let out a low laugh.

“She is too thin.”

“Every time I hold her, it’s like holding a bag of bones.”

Celine immediately frowned, as if offended on my behalf.

“How can you say that about her?”

“Mia is my best friend!”

But the moment those words left her mouth, she smiled and pressed her lips to Garrett’s ear, her voice feather-light and sweet.

“What about me, then?”

“Do I matter to you?”

Garrett’s throat bobbed.

He didn’t answer.

He stayed silent, his expression growing more complicated.

That silence was louder than any answer could have been.

Celine smiled.

“Forget it. I won’t compete with Mia.”

“She waited seven years for you. Poor thing.”

The vision cut out.

Back in reality, Garrett was still holding me.

A wave of cold churned through my stomach, and I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I shoved him away.

Garrett stumbled back half a step, caught completely off guard.

He frowned at me.

“Mia?”

“What’s wrong?”

I pressed my hand against my chest and shook my head.

My face had gone white as paper.

Then the sound of the keypad lock came from the front door.

A second later, the door swung open from the outside.

Celine stood there in a thin lounge dress that looked far too casual for a late-night visit.

She smiled.

“Mia, my shower’s broken.”

“Your place is close, so I figured I’d come borrow yours.”

I looked at the nightgown she was wearing, and for the first time, my expression turned cold.

“Celine, do you really think it’s appropriate to show up at our place dressed like that?”
