After my parents learned that I’d gotten sixth place, they tried to contact me again.

They couldn’t reach me by phone.

So they had my classmates call me instead.

But the moment I heard their voices, I hung up.

I also refused to attend the college acceptance party they wanted to throw for me.

Those days, the atmosphere at home was cold as ice.

In the end, Ruby came up with a suggestion. “Even if Selene won’t come back, we can still celebrate for her.”

She proposed holding the party as planned.

As for why I couldn’t make it, they could say that Royal Lycan Academy had invited its top freshmen to an

early honors orientation event.

My parents agreed without hesitation.

Soon, the day of the party arrived.

Luna Elena and Alpha Victor dressed up meticulously and arrived at the hotel early.

They were ready to receive everyone’s congratulations.

But the moment Alpha Victor stepped into the ballroom, his face fell.

He pointed at the banner and turned to Ruby, who was in charge of printing it. “Why does it have your name

on it instead of Selene’s?”

Ruby answered guiltily, “Maybe the print shop made a mistake. Can we just cross it out with a pen?”

With guests about to arrive, Luna Elena and Alpha Victor had no choice but to take the pen from Ruby

They crossed out “Ruby Silverstein” by hand and replaced it with “Selene Silverstein.”

Then they hurried off to greet the guests.

The moment they turned around, neither of them noticed what happened next.

The fresh ink slowly faded, and Ruby Silverstein’s name reappeared on the banner.

Although I hadn’t come home for the party, my Alpha parents had Silas put together a childhood memory

video for me.

Partly to make up for years of neglect.

Partly to show the outside world what responsible and loving parents they were.
