My Husband’s Mistress Is My Sister Chapter 07

My Husband’s Mistress Is My Sister Chapter 07

On the way to the hospital, Ethan’s mind kept drifting back to the beginning, just like Grace’s must have as she walked through the rain.

He first saw her sophomore year of college.

He’d gone down from low blood sugar during a basketball game. Grace, passing by, gave him the candy she had on her.

He didn’t know she was the girl his roommate Julian had been chasing for six months. All he knew was that he’d fallen for her instantly. He went after her hard.

By the time he found out she was with Julian, it was already too late.

The day she got married, Ethan cried all night.

Then he got in his car and followed the procession the whole way.

When Julian carried her out of the car at the venue, Ethan couldn’t bring himself to watch. He turned around, eyes burning, and drove off.

That night, he got so drunk he passed out and dreamed of a world where it was him she was marrying.

When he woke up, he caught himself wishing Julian wouldn’t treasure her. That way, maybe someday,

he’d have a chance.

Somehow, his wish came true.

He finally got his moon back.

The year he spent pulling Grace out of her depression, every moment was a contradiction. It killed him

to see her in so much pain, but at the same time, he was grateful because at least she was with him.

Back then, he made a promise to himself: if Grace ever got better, he’d give his own life if he had to.

And somehow, she did get better. And somewhere along the way, she became his.

They fell in love. They got engaged. They planned their life together.

Ethan’s happiness felt so huge it shook him.

Then came the day of their engagement photos. That was when Vanessa sent him the picture.

A wedding photo.

Grace and Julian.

The joy he’d been drowning in vanished in an instant.

Jealousy crashed over him.

He looked across the room at Grace, casually negotiating with the photographer, and something shifted

in his chest.

She was perfect. And she’d belonged to someone else.

Everything precious she had to give, she’d already given it to another man.

Something inside him cracked.

He went through the rest of the shoot like a hostage. Smiling stiffly, like he was marrying his worst

enemy.

Grace didn’t notice. She just took his hand and smiled up at him. “Let’s grab a fake ring after this, just in

case someone gets sticky fingers at the reception.”

His head knew she was just being practical.

But the rest of him? It twisted the knife. All he could think about was whether she’d learned that the hard

way. At her first wedding.

The one that wasn’t to him.
