My Husband Wiped The Handle My Brother Touched And Called It Clean Chapter 07

“No! Chloe Clark, you can’t be this heartless! Austin is still just a child!”

Stella dropped to her knees with a loud thud, reaching out frantically to snatch my phone.

I stepped back, easily dodging her hands. “A child? A nineteen-year-old attempted murderer is what you call a child?”

Ethan stared fixedly at the thumb drive, his entire body trembling violently.

He turned his head to look at Stella, his eyes filled with absolute estrangement and disgust.

“Didn’t you tell me Austin just accidentally grazed him?” he demanded. “Didn’t you say it was Logan who broke traffic laws and darted out suddenly?”

Ethan grabbed Stella by the collar, lifting her off the ground entirely. “Stella Vance, how many goddamn lies have you told me?”

Stella wept until her makeup was completely smeared, gripping Ethan’s wrists tightly.

“Ethan, he’s the only brother I have! If I told you the truth, you never would have helped me!”

“Have you completely forgotten what we used to have?” she sobbed. “If my mother hadn’t forced us apart because you were broke back

then, we would have been married long ago!

If she hadn’t brought up the past, things might have been better.

The moment she mentioned it, Ethan’s gaze turned terrifying. “You actually have the nerve to bring up back then?”

He slammed Stella onto the floor violently, his voice cracking with rage.

“I investigated it long ago. Your mother never forced you.”

“You threw yourself at that wealthy heir because you looked down on me and thought I couldn’t provide the luxury you wanted!” he spat. “You used your mother as an excuse to dump me!”

“Then the moment his family went bankrupt and you saw me rise to the top,” he sneered, “you crawled back pretending to be deeply in love!”

Ethan pointed a shaking finger at the door, his eyes filled with lethal revulsion. “Get out! Don’t let me ever see your face again!”

Stella slumped onto the ground completely broken, scrambling and crawling out of the ward like a beaten dog.

The room settled into silence once more. Ethan turned back to face me, his eyes bloodshot with regret.

“Chloe, I’m so sorry… I was blind. I let myself get played by her.”

He stepped forward, attempting to take my hand. “I realize now that you are the only one who ever truly loved me.”

“Let’s start over, please?” he begged. “I swear I will treat you and Logan like my own flesh and blood.”

I looked at his performance with absolute coldness, feeling nothing but nausea.

“Ethan, drop the tragic, devoted act. You weren’t fooled by her.”

“You just thoroughly enjoyed the vanity of having your first love worship you like a god,” I said cuttingly. “And now that you see your company on the brink of bankruptcy, you suddenly remember how good I was?”

I pointed directly at Logan on the bed. “Too late. Logan’s leg will never be the same. And what was between us died a long time ago.”

I called security and had Ethan thrown out of the building.

That night, a massive torrential downpour struck the city. I went back to my old rental place to grab some clean clothes for Logan.

The moment I reached the building entrance, I saw Ethan standing in the rain without an umbrella, completely drenched.

His expensive suit clung to his frame miserably, looking entirely pathetic.

He blocked my path aggressively, his eyes filled with the frantic desperation of a man at the end of his rope.

“Chloe, I’ve thrown Stella Vance out for good! Just give me the patent license, please!”

“The company absolutely cannot go under!” he yelled hysterically.

“You don’t want to see the empire we built together turn into nothing, do you?”
