My Husband Wiped The Handle My Brother Touched And Called It Clean Chapter 08

“Ethan, I would rather see every single drop of our hard work turn to dust than miss the chance to watch you go bankrupt.”

Standing behind the security gate, my voice didn’t carry a single ripple of emotion.

The space outside fell silent for a fraction of a second, followed immediately by Ethan’s frantic pounding on the door.

“Chloe Clark! Stop acting out of spite! The investors are going to pull their capital completely!”

He yelled hysterically, attempting to use leverage to entice me. “The moment you sign that license, I will transfer fifty percent of the company shares to your name right away!”

Listening to his arrogant version of ‘charity,’ I felt nothing but a tragic, comedic pity.

“Your worthless bankrupt shares can’t buy back Logan’s healthy leg,” I said flatly.

“Take your empty shell of a company and wait for it to rot. I will never sign.”

Leaving those cold words behind, I turned and walked into the bedroom, beginning to pack our luggage for going abroad.

I had already coordinated with the top orthopedic rehabilitation center in Germany.

This miserable wreckage of a city was somewhere I didn’t want to spend another second in.

The following afternoon, I was pushing Logan in his wheelchair through the departure hall of the international airport.

Right as we finished checking in and received our boarding passes, a frantic rush of footsteps echoed from behind.

“Chloe Clark!”

I turned around.

Ethan was wearing a hospital gown, a piece of medical tape still stuck over the IV injection site on the back of his hand, running toward us completely out of breath.

His face was entirely devoid of color, clearly having ripped out his IV lines to escape the hospital.

“You’re leaving? Where are you taking Logan?” He clamped his hand over the handle of my suitcase, his eyes swimming with pure terror.

“To Germany. For rehabilitation,” I replied flatly.

“I’ll go with you! I know the specialists over there, I can arrange everything—”

“No need.” I cut him off without a shred of hesitation.

Ethan’s hands began to shake violently.

He suddenly fished a document out from his gown pocket, holding it

out to me almost begging.

“Chloe, this is a sixty percent equity transfer for Starry Sky Tech. I’ve already signed it. If you just stay, the company is yours, and I am yours.”

Passersby began to turn their heads to stare.

The celebrated founder of Starry Sky Tech was currently debasing himself into the absolute dirt.

Seeing that I remained completely unmoved, Ethan’s eyes turned crimson, and his knees buckled.

Thud.

Right there in the middle of the crowded airport terminal, he dropped straight down onto his knees in front of me.

“Chloe, I’m begging you, don’t leave me all alone.”

He gripped the hem of my jeans with a death grip, his tears mixing with cold sweat as they splattered against the polished floor.

“If you just stay, even if Starry Sky never lists, even if it goes completely belly up, I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you and Logan, okay?”
