My Husband Timetravelled from 5 Years Later to Force an ABORTION—So I Ruined His Entire Family Chapter 05

I was just about to speak when Aiden pulled Lena behind him, as if afraid I would hurt the woman he

loved. He turned to look at me, his eyes filled with undisguised contempt.

Don’t worry, Lena. This woman’s just a gold digger desperate to work her way up the social

ranks.”

“She could never hold a candle to you.”

“You are the rightful heiress of the Moore family, born noble and pure. She’s not even worthy to

stand in your orbit.”

Under his shameless flattery, Lena trembled uncontrollably, her eyes darting around in panic. She forced a stiff smile and tugged at Aiden’s sleeve. “Aiden, let’s just leave. Don’t waste your time on

her.”

But my gaze locked onto her neck. Against her pale skin hung a vintage emerald necklace. It had been designed by my father himself as a token of love for my mother. It was the last gift my mother ever gave me; she’d fastened it around my neck moments before her passing. I had kept that necklace hidden against my body ever since I left home. How did it end up around this impostor’s

neck?

Blind, seething fury crashed over me. I stepped forward and demanded, “Where did you get necklace?”

“You thief-take it off at once!”

Lena let out a shrill scream. Guilty and terrified, she clutched the necklace and burrowed frantically into Aiden’s chest. “Aiden, I’m scared. She’s trying to take my necklace away from me.”

Aiden flew into a rage, veins bulging on his forehead. Without a second thought, he shoved me hard. “Are you out of your mind?”

Caught off guard, I crashed onto the hard marble floor. My palms scraped against the ground, drawing blood. A tearing pain ripped through my lower abdomen-still recovering from the procedure-and I gasped.

Aiden stood over me, pointing and shouting. “Evelyn, do you have no shame?”

“This is a Moore family heirloom, and as the Moores’ sole daughter, Lena is fully entitled to wear

it.”

“A low-class nobody like you isn’t even worthy to look at it, let alone grab for it.”

As I lay there broken on the floor, a nasty glint flashed across Lena’s eyes from behind Aiden. She

let go of the necklace and sighed softly, putting on an act of generosity and hurt.

“Don’t be so upset, Aiden. Maybe she’s just poor and has never seen such expensive jewelry

before.”

“After all, this is the Moore family’s charity gala. As the hostess, I should set a good example.”

She pretended to unclasp the necklace and held the precious heirloom up in the air. “If you’re that desperate to have it, Evelyn, you may take it.”

She held the necklace out toward me like she was doing me a favor. I gritted my teeth and reached for it. Then a vicious look flashed in Lena’s eyes. She casually let go.

Clink. The priceless emerald necklace hit the hard floor. The crisp crack of stone cut across the chatter of the ballroom. A hairline fracture ran across the flawless gem.

“No…”

I was overcome with fury. Ignoring the blood on my hands, I scrambled across the floor and touched the broken gem, as if I could wipe away the crack with my fingers. My whole body shook violently as tears fell onto my hands.

Aiden curled his lips into a cruel sneer. “A leopard never changes its spots. You see something valuable and you fixate on valuables the second they appear.”

“You’ll grovel and debase yourself for spare change. You’re utterly repulsive to me.’

I slowly closed my bloodied fingers around the broken fragments, letting the sharp pain spread through my body. I forced myself to stand, my back straight. Hatred burned away all reason. I stared hard at the two of them, my gaze sharpened with unbridled murderous intent.

“Aiden Cole. Lena Moore.”

“I swear I will make you pay for this.”

“You?” Aiden laughed, as if I had told the funniest joke in the world. Cruel arrogance blazed in his

eyes.

“A nobody I tossed aside long ago, and you dare threaten Lena here on Moore property?”

“You’re truly pushing your luck.”

With that, he raised his arm and swung his hand toward my face with all his strength. The rush of wind brushed past my ear. I stared calmly at his twisted face and did not move.

Just as his hand was about to strike-

“Stop right there.”

A thunderous roar echoed from the entrance of the grand ballroom. My brother Ethan strode inside, boiling with unbridled rage.
