My Don Forgot Who Gave Him Everything Chapter 06

My Don Forgot Who Gave Him Everything Chapter 06

By the time I came out again, Matteo had already left in anger.

The next day, Nora excitedly told me there would be an alumni gathering the following week.

But I had another business engagement that day.

After Nora heard where my engagement was, she immediately

said the gathering could be held there too.

Only after she repeatedly promised me that Matteo would not be there did I agree to make an appearance.

But the moment I pushed the door open, I saw the two of

them.

Lila was holding Matteo’s arm intimately, carrying herself as

if the position she had been waiting for was already hers.

Back in college, Matteo and I had been the couple everyone on campus knew.

We had our wedding right after graduation, and there was not

a person at school who did not know about it.

Now, in front of our former classmates and professors, he had brought Lila along and was greeting people with her glued to

his side.

The expressions on the faces of the classmates and professors in the private room were not pleasant.

I had always had a much better relationship with them than

Matteo did.

I truly did not know where he found the nerve to bring his

mistress so openly to an alumni gathering.

When one of our professors saw me, he immediately walked

over.

“Elena, what is going on?”

I smiled. My voice was not loud, but it was clear enough for

everyone around us to hear.

“Professor, Matteo cheated on me.”

“With the woman he brought here.”

“After I found out, I filed for divorce. We’re still in the

finalization period.”

The professors and classmates looked at one another in shock.

The people who had been chatting with Matteo and Lila

instantly cooled toward them.

I was not one of those women who thought divorce was

something to be ashamed of.

Today, I was here to put Matteo and Lila on blast and let them

burn.

Matteo clearly never expected me to say it outright.

He glared at me.

I gave him a slight nod, then turned and chatted with the

professors and classmates as if nothing had happened.

When it was time to leave, I excused myself from the

professors.

After all, I still had another engagement to attend.

I had just stepped outside when someone grabbed my arm

from behind.

I turned and saw Matteo.

“Are you behind the problems at the company?”

Oh?

Had they already started taking action?

By my count, the divorce was almost finalized too.

“What does your company have to do with me?”

“I already sold you my shares, and I’ve already pulled all my

business backing out. Now you want to pin this on me?”

Matteo froze for a moment.

He probably had not expected me to let go of the company’s affairs so completely.

“I have somewhere to be.”

I pulled my arm back.

“By the way, ten o’clock the morning after tomorrow, Holland

& Crane Law Office. Let’s sign the final divorce decree.”

After saying that, I turned and walked into another private

room.

Compared with dragging things out with him, making money

mattered more.

When I pushed the door open, I heard Julian’s voice.

“Elena, I saved you a seat.”

“Come sit.”

He pulled out a chair for me and asked in a low voice, “Why are you so late? Eat something first.”

Julian Ferraro and I had known each other for a long time.

He went to the same high school as Matteo and me, but he was

two years ahead of us.

When I was a freshman, he was already a senior, and he had

already been admitted early to Columbia University.

Back then, I knew a lot of people. When I heard there was a senior who was tall, good–looking, and brilliant, I had always wanted to meet the legendary school heartthrob and top

student.

Later, during a break between classes, a student behind me

stepped on my shoe and tripped me.

Julian happened to be one of the student council members supervising discipline that day, and after he took me to the

nurse’s office, I took the initiative to get his contact

information.

After that, whenever I saw him at school, I would greet him

and talk to him.

Because of him, I even joined student council and ended up on

the publicity committee with Julian.

He handled overall planning, and I handled poster design.

We gradually got to know each other through the promotional

work for the school track meet.

Talking to Julian was comfortable.

We could talk about anything and everything.

Even after he graduated and went to college, we never lost

contact.

Matteo was different. He had always been quiet and reserved.

If I had not taken the initiative, Matteo might not have

reached out to me for half a month.

Looking back now, some people’s gentleness had actually been there from the very beginning.

It was just that back then, my eyes were so full of Matteo that I

could not see anyone else.
