My Dead Hunter Husband Is the Supreme Alpha Chapter 05

My Dead Hunter Husband Is the Supreme Alpha Chapter 05

I went to the Sanctuary once more.

Sebastian kept his word – he let me go.

At the Sanctuary, I saw Domi again.

He’d changed beyond recognition-no longer the easygoing man who’d smiled at my every clumsy

gesture.

He stood radiating authority, making others hesitate to draw near.

I’d first met Domi in the snow-choked forest north of the settlement.

He was grievously wounded, more dead than alive.

I saved him.

Later, in a voice like gravel, he asked what reward I desired.

I rested my chin on my hand and pondered for a long while.

I’d lived alone in the town, with only an elderly mortal woman who’d shown me kindness.

When she died, I wept until I had no tears left. After that, there was no one left to love me.

She’d stroked my hair and sighed, “Silly girl, find yourself a mate. If he’s good, maybe he’ll cherish

you.”

She’d passed too swiftly-I never heard the second thing she said:

“If there’s truly no one, then learn to cherish yourself…”

So I looked at the fragile man and said, solemn:

“Then you’ll be my husband.”

The man was stunned.

He seemed dazed for a heartbeat, then gave a faint smile.

I heard his rough voice: “Agreed.”

The old woman was right-my husband didtreat me well.

We lived as any couple-he hunted, I gathered berries, and we were content. Until the day he went

up the mountain and didn’t return-mauled by a beast.

By the time I reached the clearing, only his shredded clothes remained.

After several rounds of strong drink, he walked out alone.

I hesitated, then slipped out after him.

My heart raced with anxiety; I dared not draw too near.

But I soon lost my way, losing sight of them.

Just as I faltered, I heard a woman sobbing from behind a stone archway:

“What am I to do, Sebastian? Has he already found that girl?”

My whole body jolted.

It was Seraphina.

“He’s been so distracted lately. Everyone says he dotes on me, but I’m not blind-he stares through me, never touches me, and keeps giving me gifts I detest, especially those Moon-Tear Berries. I’m

sick to death of them.”

“If he truly finds her, I won’t be Luna anymore.”

When Sebastian didn’t answer, she drew a breath, lowering her voice, her fingers drifting toward

his collar, a hint of invitation in her eyes.

“Sebastian, you musthelp me…”

Sebastian flinched back, pushing her away. “Are you mad?!”

Seraphina wept prettily, voice trembling: “What else can I do? The Supreme Alpha and I haven’t

shared a bed in moons. I must bear his heir.”

Sebastian’s face paled, then flushed. He straightened his collar and said, slow and deliberate:

“You arehis Luna!”

With that, he turned and stalked behind the archway without a backward glance.

I was so startled I couldn’t dodge-we collided head-on.

He froze, frowning slightly. “What are you doing here?”

Hearing the noise, Seraphina rushed back.

When she saw me, her face drained of colour. She grabbed Sebastian’s arm, panicked:

“She saw us! What do we do? Will she tell?”

Sebastian frowned, subtly withdrawing his arm.

“She won’t.”

“How do you know?”

I didn’t care to listen to their squabbling. I turned to leave.

By the time Seraphina realised, I was already walking away. She ran after me,

“No, you’re not going anywhere!”

She hadn’t taken three steps before she let out a sharp cry.

Seraphina tripped over the archway’s edge and fell heavily.

I stopped and turned.

Just then, a crowd came rushing in.

frantic:

The man at the front was hurried, breathless-it was the Supreme Alpha himself.

He sprinted to Seraphina’s side, and when he saw the blood on her brow and throat, his pupils contracted sharply:

“What happened?!”

“Fetch the pack healer-now!”

Seraphina was terrified. She burst into sobs, throwing herself into the Alpha’s arms, pointing at

me, wailing:

“It was her! She pushed me!”

Dominic’s eyes turned bloodshot. Without glancing up, he growled:

“Drag her out and flog her to death!”

“No!”

Sebastian’s voice rang out-his face ashen, lunging forward.

But I lifted my head slightly and looked at this man whose heart belonged wholly to Seraphina.

That was my Domi.

And the most powerful Alpha in the entire pack.

i’d long heard of the Supreme Alpha’s devotion to his Luna, but this was the first time I witnessed!

with my own eyes.

He was no longer my Domi alone.

Whether resentment or sorrow, I felt it coil and spread inside me.

Suddenly, I felt weary.

As if all the stubbornness I’d clung to for so long was a cruel jest.

I didn’t struggle when the guards seized my arms.

Closing my eyes, I said, one word at a time:

“I understand.”

Dominic’s movements froze abruptly.

The medicine vial in his hand slipped and shattered on the stone.

The next instant, he shot to his feet and looked at me, his voice trembling:

“You-lift your head.”
