My Dead Hunter Husband Is the Supreme Alpha Chapter 06

My Dead Hunter Husband Is the Supreme Alpha Chapter 06

Slowly, I looked up.

His pupils blew wide, emotions surging behind his gaze like a storm – he seemed to have a thousand words trapped behind his teeth.

After a long pause, he walked over slowly and raised his hand as if to brush my cheek, his voice barely audible, rough with disuse:

“Elena…”

The hall was so silent you could hear a pin drop.

Domi held my ankle gently, carefully smoothing salve over the scrape.

I tried to pull away twice, but he held firm, shooting me a glare.

“Didn’t I tell you before? If you’re hurt, speak up. Don’t suffer in silence.”

I wasn’t the only one injured-Seraphina was bleeding too, but I’d twisted my ankle in the

scramble.

I pressed my lips together and said nothing.

He had said that, indeed.

Back in the mortal settlement, I had no one to tend me. When I was weary or in pain, I gritted my

teeth and endured. Then I met Domi.

When he learned of it, his heart ached for me, and he’d told me exactly that.

After we wed, he spoiled me shamelessly. After he died, I reverted to my old ways.

I looked down at him, his face so intent, my heart a tangle of contradictions.

A Beta crept over and whispered:

“Alpha, the Border Alpha is still waiting outside. It’s raining.”

Domi’s face darkened. “Let him stand and soak.”

Then he turned to me, guilt flickering in his eyes.

“I’m sorry. Back then, I thought you were dead. When I saw Seraphina resembled you… I never expected you’d end up bonded to him.”

“Elena, please come back to me.”

My gaze dropped, and I didn’t answer.

Something simply felt… different now.

For the next few days, I stayed to recover.

Everyone whispered the Supreme Alpha was keeping a concubine.

Sebastian stood outside the hall for three days straight.

On the fourth, he finally left.

The drizzle was relentless.

He was drenched through, his gaze complex as he looked at me:

“Elena, if I had to wage war against the Supreme Alpha to take you home-would you come with me?”

I shook my head.

The light in his eyes dimmed, and he gave a bitter smile.

“I knew it. Even though he already has a Luna, even though I’d give you all of me and only you-you still choose him.”

Before he left, he gave me one last, lingering look, as if trying to burn me into his memory.

“I’m sorry. If there’s a next life, I’ll cherish you properly.”

I opened my mouth, but no words came.

He drew a silver dagger and scored his palm, tracing a blood sigil.

It was the rite to dissolve our bond.

Signed in Sebastian’s own blood.

Domi blinked and smiled:

“I knew he’d yield.”

“Elena, you’re free now.”

I ran into Séraphina.

It was the first time I’d seen her since her injury.

She looked haggard, nothing like the polished beauty she’d once been.

Her eyes were venomous as she stared at me.

“So it was you. You’re the one Dominic’s been pining for all along.”

“If I’d known, I’d have left you to rot in the mortal world.”

I looked at her and spoke slowly:

“Long time no see. You’re still as charming as ever-in your own peculiar way.”

“Tell me, if I asked Dominic to return you to Sebastian-do you think he’d agree?”

She went rigid, her face instantly paling, her voice a hiss through gritted teeth: “You wouldn’t dare.”

And that was all.

She didn’t dare provoke me further.

Clearly, she knew exactly what Dominic felt for me.

But she was wrong about one thing.

Domi didn’t agree to it.

The day he asked me to be his Luna, I asked him:

“Then what if I return Seraphina to Sebastian?”

He was silent for a long while before answering:

“Elena, Seraphina and I have a pact, too.”

A simple statement-and I understood his meaning.

The light rain kept falling, beading along the eaves like a string of pearls.

I sat wrapped in a wolf-pelt cloak, staring out the window, feeling a calm I hadn’t known in an age.

That night, Domi came to me.

He sat across from me, resting one hand on the table.

His eyes we’re deep, as if he’d reached a decision:

“Elena, I’ve thought it through. I’ll agree to it. I’ll let Sebastian take Seraphina.”

He paused, then looked at me with hopeful eyes:

“Now will you agree to be my Luna?”

I laughed laughed until tears streamed down my face. After a long while, I stopped, stood, and

looked down at him:

“I don’t want to!”

“Why?!”

The question burst from him.

My voice was calm:

“Domi, when you faked your death and returned to the pack back then-did you ever… did you ever come looking for me?”

He frowned. “I did. But I couldn’t find you. Later, I thought you were dead.”

“Is that so?”

His eyes widened, a trace of panic in them:

“Elena, what are you saying? You don’t believe me? Are you blaming me?”

I curved my lips into a faint smile:

“Look at that-you just admitted it. You never once told me about faking your death.”

He froze, his face turning ashen.

“You never looked for me, either. You always knew who I was, and you knew I’d married Sebastian. This was all intentional on your part-wasn’t it, Domi?”
