My Dead Hero’s Wedding Chapter 08

My Dead Hero’s Wedding Chapter 08 The Truth He Hid for Five Years

At my words, Adrian frowited.

Afraid I would say more, he grabbed Claire and left immediately.

Caleb was the first to break the awkward silence, “He’s the man you waited five years for, isn’t he?”

I was a little surprised.

Even he had heard the story of my five-year search.

“Yes.”

Caleb lit a cigarette with a troubled look, “So that’s why you seemed so lifeless back then.”

I frowned, “What do you mean?”

“Like a walking corpse. Anyone would think you were playing the grieving widow.”

I smiled faintly, “Now, the person I’m tasked to protect is you.”

Caleb smiled back, his tone turning serious.

“Sienna, I’m no saint. You can lean on me, or see me as your lifeline.

“But if you choose to be with me, you need to understand what that means.”

A faint trace of jealousy lingered in his voice, and his implication was clear.

Caleb and I began living together.

On the day I moved into his tent, I spotted Adrian outside.

I had not seen him since he left with Claire that day.

Strange as it was, five years of longing had failed to erase him from my mind.

Yet these past two months had made him fade from my thoughts more and more.

His eyes were slightly red, a mix of unwillingness and helplessness in his gaze.

Adrian’s voice was hoarse, “Five years ago, I was hit by stray gunfire and fell into a three-year coma. Claire was the one who saved me. She told me you had already married someone else.

“In that moment, I hated you deeply.

“When I saw you at the wedding, a twisted sense of revenge welled up inside me.

“I never imagined it would only drive you further away.”

I tugged at the corner of my mouth and spoke softly, “So seeing me at the wedding made you think your

revenge was complete? Is that why you married Claire?”

Adrian stared at me in shock, his face filled with disbelief. His once upright frame suddenly hunched over in agony.

It took him a long time to open his mouth, yet his body shook too violently to form a single word.

“Sienna… would you give me another chance and wait for me?

“Claire is pregnant. Her family holds considerable influence in the military. I cannot divorce her right

now.

“Once she gives birth, I will sort everything out and make it up to you. Please…”
