My Dead Hero’s Wedding Chapter 07 The Confession I Wasn’t Ready For

Our bond deepened rapidly amid the constant gunfire.

Two months after we met, he confessed his feelings to me.

I neither accepted nor turned him down.

After a cocktail party, night fell thick and dark.

I had drunk quite a lot, a faint flush staining my cheeks.

Caleb supported me as we walked, until I suddenly stopped in my tracks.

“Adrian Vale?”

My confused voice made Caleb look up. A man stood at the camp entrance, staring fixedly at us.

He had grown much thinner, and his eyes were bloodshot.

Behind him stood Claire, her face twisted with malice.

Claire’s venomous gaze landed on me, and she let out a cold laugh.

‘You bitch! Was I not good to you? How dare you steal my husband!

‘I was worried sick about you. Soon after our wedding, I dragged my husband all this way to find you and hrow you a birthday party. And this is how you repay me?”

Some of the alcohol faded from my head.

Panther had told me Adrian had gone mad searching for me.

He had mobilized every connection he had, nearly turning all of Asia upside down.

Claire was pregnant and waiting for the child at home alone.

Yet Adrian paid her no heed whatsoever.

When she confronted him with red-rimmed eyes, she was met with nothing but an icy, emotionless expression-

the very same look he had once given me.

I had known this day would come.

[ straightened up, my expression calm.

‘I never took your husband.

“You were the one who took mine.”

My denial only fueled her anger

Claire stormed toward me and raised her hand to strike, but Caleb caught her wrist firmly.

You shameless woman! Do you take me for a fool? If you hadn’t seduced him, he would never have changed so completely!”

Caleb frowned and pushed her away sharply. “Mind your tongue.!”

I lifted my eyes to the man standing in the shadows a short distance away, a hint of mockery on my face.

‘Aren’t you going to comfort your wife?”

Adrian ignored Claire on the ground, his gaze locked solely on me and Caleb.

Seeing the red fury in his eyes, Caleb stepped in front of me protectively.

After a long moment, Adrian stepped out of the shadows. His eyes were clouded with tangled emotions as he spoke quietly.

‘Claire, let’s go home. I’ll explain everything to you.”

Claire’s face darkened.

‘What explanation could ever make me forgive this double betrayal?

You’re the man I love, and she was my sister-in-arms!

Did either of you stop to think about me when you carried on behind my back?”

let out a soft chuckle, “Double betrayal?

Was I not the one betrayed by both of you?”

No.

It was different. I was lied to, kept in the dark, and made a fool of for five whole years, completely unaware

of the truth.
