My Alpha Mate Shoved Me Into The Trunk For The Omega’s Dog Chapter 08

“I thought you really had the nerve to walk away from your Luna title, but look at you scurrying back with your tail tucked between your legs.”

“Here’s the thing, though—”

“Hemlock says I’m younger and prettier than you, and I’m the one he truly wants!”

I gripped my bag and didn’t spare her a single full glance.

“Who he prefers means nothing to me. I only came to grab something I left behind.”

Unable to ruffle my temper, Mia clenched her hands tight at her sides.

She stepped half a pace closer, lowering her voice.

“Avril, I honestly admire how willing you are to let the Alpha shower all his favor on me.”

I offered a faint, calm smile. “Your memory’s terrible. I already gave him to you, remember?”

“Unless… Hemlock hasn’t accepted your little advances?”

The words struck a nerve, and Mia’s face blanched instantly.

Shame, rage, and malice burned bright in her eyes, no longer hidden.

“Hemlock loves me! If you don’t want to be his mate, get out of the way for good!”

A quiet laugh escaped me. “You look quite striking when you’re

throwing a tantrum.”

It took Mia a long beat to process my jab, her teeth grinding together as she spoke.

“Don’t get cocky. Hemlock will discard you soon enough. The pack house and him will both end up mine, and you’ll lose everything.”

I shrugged without a care.

“Then I ought to thank you for hauling away my trash for me.”

All her rage hit thin air.

She seethed, her fingers trembling with unbridled fury.

Footsteps echoed outside the front door right then—Hemlock was back.

Mia’s eyes darted, and she threw her arms out to swept the whole dining table to the floor in one quick motion.

Sauces and broken dishes splattered all across the floor.

The second Hemlock stepped inside, all he saw was Mia crumpled on the ground beside the wreckage, sobbing hysterically.

“Avril, how could you treat me like this…”

Hemlock dropped the takeout boxes in his hands and rushed to lift her up.

“Avril, what in the world happened here?”

Mia buried her face against Hemlock’s chest, sniffling. “I only told Avril I’d stop coming between you two so you could make up…”

“But she accused me of seducing you, then knocked over every meal I spent hours preparing…”

“Avril!” Hemlock’s eyes blazed red with anger. “You’ve gone too far! You aren’t even officially my Luna yet!”

“Apologize to Mia right this instant!”

I stepped forward, staring down at the pair of them from above.

“I couldn’t stomach a single bite of that meal anyway—you two make me sick to my core.”

I turned to walk toward the door.

A thought hit me, and I glanced over my shoulder to remind him. “Hemlock, go check the security cameras yourself.”

With that, I walked out without looking back.

Late last year, a handful of rogues had wandered into Blackthorn Valley and attacked several pack members.

I’d installed surveillance cameras all through the pack house as a safety precaution back then.

That night, my phone flooded with endless messages from Hemlock.

“Avril I’m so sorry, I watched the footage and I misjudged you completely!”

“I’ve reprimanded Mia, I’ll never trust her lies again!”

“Where are you? I need to apologize to you face-to-face!”

“Why won’t you reply to my texts? Are you still angry? I truly know I

messed up, what can I do to earn your forgiveness?”

I blocked his number outright.

The whole thing was absurd beyond belief.

This was the man I’d loved for six years, the one I’d nearly pledged my whole life to?

He’d chosen to believe Mia over the woman who’d stood beside him for years.

If those cameras hadn’t existed, I never would’ve been able to clear my name no matter how hard I argued.

Early the next morning, Benjamin—the Gamma taking over my workload—came sprinting to find me, breathless.

“Avril, the Alpha’s shouting on the main floor demanding to see you, you need to come quick.”

I frowned in confusion. “The Alpha’s here?”
