My Alpha Made Me Bleed for My Sister Chapter 08

My Alpha Made Me Bleed for My Sister Chapter 08

The enforcer stayed silent for a long moment, eyes full of pity.

“We’ve already run a blood test.”

“It’s confirmed. It’s Ms. Elara,”

It felt like a giant hand had clamped down on his heart.

His knees buckled, and he sank to the ground.

“Would you like to bring the remains back to the Pack?”

“If not, we can handle the burial on your behalf.”

“No burial!”

He rasped out a hoarse growl.

“Then the family will take her.”

The enforcer paused, then continued as if reluctant to.

“Also, we’ve traced the person who dumped the body in the ravine…”

After hearing the enforcer’s findings.

After finishing the paperwork to claim the body.

He walked out in a daze, barely present.

He passed a few enforcers, enforcers and overheard their conversation.

“Heard they found a body today – burned today. Burned alive?”

“Yeah, some girl. I couldn’t even look when I walked past, afraid I’d have nightmares.”

“I glanced at it and couldn’t help it – the it. The way she was curled up, she must’ve been in so much pain before she died…”

It was just quiet gossip, but it hit his eardrums like thunder.

Pain?

Right He remembered I’d always been afraid of pain.

He suddenly remembered, a long time ago.

I’d stub my toe on a table leg and cry, crouched on the floor, and it would take forever to comfort me.

Later, the curse mark took hold.

I got hurt more and more.

At first, when I cried out, he’d patiently comfort me.

Later, after enough times, he grew impatient.

“You heal fast enough anyway, do. Do you have to act like you’re dying every time?”

After that, I stopped crying out.

And so he forgot too.

I was flesh and blood too.

Just because a wound healed fast didn’t mean it didn’t hurt.

Something in his chest felt like it had a hole blown through it, cold wind rushing in, and he could barely

breathe.

He made it back to the Pack main house in a daze.

Serena was curled up on the couch eating chips. Hearing him come in, she turned, smiling.

“Adrian, come watch TV with me.”

He stood in the entryway, didn’t move.

Just looked at her.

His eyes had frozen over.

One gesture.

Two guards behind him stepped forward instantly, wrenching Serena’s arms behind her back, back and forcing her to her knees.

Serena’s face went white, and she thrashed wildly.

“What is this? Let go of me!”

“Whip her”

He gave the order.

The crack of the whip split the air near her ear.

Her back exploded with searing pain instantly.

She let out a shrill scream, immediately sobbing.

Her words barely made sense.

“It hurts… Adrian… why..Why. Why are you hitting me…”

His expression stayed cold.

“You dumped Elara in a ravine. Shouldn’t you be punished?”

Her pupils shrank.

“These past few days I’ve torn the whole Pack apart looking for her.”

“And you never said a word.”

“Do you think that’s funny?”

He suddenly grabbed her by the throat, slowly tightening his grip.

“You’re asking me why I’m hitting you.”

“Then let me ask you why this. Why did you do it?”

Serena’s face went from white to red, struggling to breathe, her hands clawing uselessly at his arm.

Right as she was about to pass out, he suddenly let go.

Serena crumpled to the floor, coughing violently, tears and cold sweat smeared across her face.

But this time, no one came to hold her, no one felt sorry for her.

The whip didn’t stop.

The whole room filled with nothing but the dull thud of the whip against flesh, mixed with her broken sobs

and pleas.

He kept his eyes closed.

Finally realizing what all those years of unprincipled indulgence had actually cost.
