He didn’t believe me. He thought I’d said it just to defy him.

Instantly, his alpha aura flooded the room, threatening to crush me.

“To frame her, you’d curse your own pup!”

“The Moon Goddess will punish a wicked bitch like you.”

“This is your little prop, right? I’ll smash this thing to pieces!”

He drove his foot into the urn in my arms with all his strength.

I couldn’t fight an alpha. I hit the floor, my ribs likely cracked.

But I didn’t care. The urn had shattered everywhere.

Eira. My pup. Scattered across the floor.

Yet Caius only sneered. “You even put white flour inside. Too bad you’re not an actress.”

He ground the ashes under his heel, took Poppy’s hand, and swaggered into the Luna suite. “You’re not feeling well. Rest.”

“Whatever you want to eat, I’ll have a beta buy it.”

I heard Caius’s gentle voice. The air was thick with Eira’s scent—and he couldn’t even recognize his own daughter’s scent.

The pain was shredding me from the inside out.

I stood frozen, my nails digging into my palms.

A large cat, black all over with eerily bright eyes, suddenly lunged at me—zero hesitation.

It breathed out a cloud of black mist that wrapped around me.

My head spun. My wolf couldn’t stay on her feet.

While I staggered, the familiar sank its iron-claw grip into my calves, raking six bloody gashes.

The scent of blood drove it wild.

It raced around the room, ecstatic, kicking up Eira’s ashes everywhere.

Porcelain, vases, medieval antiques—all shattered.

Worse, it stopped at the urn fragments, scratched at the last pile of ashes, crouched, and started to piss.

I lunged. Too late.

Eira was now a wet, urine-soaked mess.

My vision went red. I threw myself at it and shoved it away.

“Get out!”

My scream was raw.

Inside, Caius heard the noise and came to check—just as I pushed the cat away.

His face darkened.

“Ravenna, that’s Poppy’s cat. You don’t get to touch it.”

“You can’t even stand one cat being in the same house?”

He didn’t see the wreckage. Not my wounds. Not our daughter’s desecrated ashes. He couldn’t even smell her.

He just kept defending Poppy’s familiar.

When Eira died, something in me died too. But when he looked at me with that pure hatred—I still couldn’t stop one tear from falling.

Caius ignored it and kept threatening me.

“Ravenna, you vicious bitch—I never should’ve mated you.”

“I’m warning you. If I catch you near that cat again, I’ll put the video everywhere. I’ll ruin you.”

Caius owned a media company. He had over seven hundred burner accounts.

He had the power to cyberbully anyone. But he never did.

He always said, “Everyone deserves compassion. Even strangers.”

I never imagined that as his Luna, I ranked lower than a stranger.

My phone buzzed.

The matriarch’s reply:

[Do what must be done.]

I read those words, and something inside me snapped.

The last chain fell away.
