My Alpha Bonded with Someone Else, I Did Too Chapter 02

My Alpha Bonded with Someone Else, I Did Too Chapter 02

I watched them flirt coldly.

Rachel turned back and smiled at me.

“Maya, if the bonded certificate bothers you that much, Cole and I can sever the bond in the next couple of days. I’ll drink this for you. Consider it my apology, okay?”

Cole’s expression changed instantly. He quickly snatched the glass from her hand.

“What are you doing? You’re on your period. Why would you drink?”

“And who said I agreed to sever anything? If we undo it, your mom will just start pressuring you to find a mate again. I’m seriously afraid you’ll grab some random loser just to get her off your back.”

My chest felt tight and bitter.

Over the past few years, my parents had urged me countless times to formalize the bond.

I was thousands of miles away from them, and they were always afraid I had no official bond, no true support in this new pack.

But every time Cole heard it, he only frowned.

“It’s just a certificate. Is it really that important? What we have doesn’t need a piece of paper to prove it.”

Now I understood.

It was not that the certificate did not matter.

It mattered too much.

The thing I had waited eight years for and never received, he had turned around and given to his female bestie.

When Cole looked back at me, his face was full of impatience.

He handed me the glass, even releasing a trace of his Alpha pressure.

“Maya, are you done making a scene? It’s just a game. If you lose, you accept the punishment.”

All at once, I laughed and nodded.

“I’m done.”

I was done with this rotten relationship.

I took the glass and drained it in one swallow.

In the game of love, I had gambled and lost. I accepted it.

The liquor burned my throat so fiercely that tears streamed down my face.

“Cole, we’re over.”

Moon Goddess, please take back your blessing from Cole Anderson.

Please sever the true mate bond between us.

Because a man who desecrated his mate no longer deserved me.

Cole froze for a second, panic flickering through his eyes.

I picked up my purse and turned to leave.

Just as Cole was about to follow, someone called out, “Cole, if you leave, who’s going to take Rachel home later?”

Cole’s steps stopped.

Rachel’s dismissive voice rang out. “Come on, your girlfriend matters more than your bro. Go comfort Maya. I’m not one of those delicate little she-wolves who needs a man to take her home.”

In the end, he did not come after me.

I buckled my seat belt, and Cole’s message came in.

Maya, don’t say things out of anger.

It’s late. It isn’t safe for Rachel to go home alone. I’ll take her back and then come home. Be good and wait for me.

Expressionless, I started the car.

Outside the windows, the night was pitch-black. Pack gatherings were always held deep in the woods. There was no guarantee I would not run into hunters or rogues on my way out.

But Cole was never worried about me being alone.

He was only worried about Rachel going home by herself.

I did not understand.

Wasn’t his precious female bestie the one who always claimed she was tougher than any man?

Cole did not come home until the next day.

By then, I was packing my things and preparing to leave.

Cole hugged me from behind, his scent wrapped in Rachel’s.

He shoved a paper bag into my hand.

“Don’t be mad anymore, okay? I went out of my way and waited in line forever to buy your favorite cake.”

I opened the bag.

Mango mousse cake.

Unfortunately, that was Rachel’s favorite.

Not mine.

Half an hour earlier, Rachel had posted an update.

Since my son waited in line for hours to buy me cake, I’ll forgive him for being so disrespectful last night~

The photo attached was of Cole standing in line to buy the cake.

Their mutual friends teased her in the comments.

“What kind of disrespect are we talking about? Hahaha.”

Cole lowered his head and tried to kiss me.

A rich citrus scent hit my nose.

It was exactly the same as Rachel’s.

Nausea churned in my stomach.

I shoved him away hard.

Cole’s expression cracked for a second. Then he gritted his teeth and asked, “Maya, are you ever going to stop?”

“I stood in line for hours just to make you happy. What the hell else do you want from me?”
