My Adopted Sister’s Rage Was Only for Me,So After Rebirth I Fought Back Chapter 07

I submitted every piece of unedited footage.

The first clip wasn’t the attack. It was the recording of Mom and me switching rooms.

On-screen, Mom carried her own jewelry into my bedroom and put on my pajamas. I heard myself ask, “Mom, what if Lily really comes in here with a knife tonight?”

She rolled over impatiently. “She’s sick, not a murderer.

The interview room fell silent.

Mom’s claim that she had known nothing about the room switch collapsed on the spot.

The second clip came from the existing hallway camera. It showed Lily on the landing,

watching the staff move Mom’s things into my room.

She wasn’t in the middle of an episode or confused. She even approached me and made a point of asking where I would sleep that night.

At the very least, it proved she had noticed the move and had actively tried to confirm my

location before the attack.

Next came the door-access log.

At 2:07 a.m., Lily unlocked my bedroom with a spare key.

She hadn’t wandered into the wrong room. She had brought that key with her.

Then the police pulled up my emergency-call records. Less than a minute after the first stabbing, I had called both 911 and the police.

The recordings captured me clearly stating the address, the victim’s condition, and the type of weapon. They also showed that I had disabled the house’s security system so first responders

could enter.

That destroyed Ethan’s claim that I had intentionally delayed help.

The people who had actually delayed it were my family.

The bedroom camera had captured Ethan stopping the housekeeper from calling 911, Dad ordering every exit locked, and all of them preventing the injured woman from seeking help

herself.

Once the officers played these clips, Dad’s and Ethan’s statements began contradicting each

other

Dad claimed Ethan had insisted they couldn’t call the police. Ethan claimed locking the doors

had been Dad’s order.

They scrambled to shift the blame, yet not one of them asked how much pain Mom had been

Dr. Morgan was also brought in for questioning.

Faced with the evidence, he finally admitted the truth.

“Lily has a history of emotional instability, but she was never diagnosed with a condition that made her completely unable to understand her actions during these episodes. Claims that she remembered nothing afterward came primarily from her family.”

The excuse that had protected Lily for years had never had solid medical support.

That evening, I published a short timeline.

Mom had knowingly agreed to switch rooms. Lily entered with a knife and a spare key. Believing she had found her intended target, she stabbed twice.

I called 911bfor help less than a minute after the first wound. The rest of the family then obstructed medical aid and locked every exit.

Adrian released a public statement as well.

[Postponing the wedding was Natalie Bennett’s decision, The Hayes family respects her choices and will never use marriage to pressure her into ending the investigation or seeking leniency for anyone involved.]

With that, the Bennetts lost the last bit of leverage they had over me.

Public opinion changed almost overnight.

[If she truly had no control, how did she remember to bring a spare key?]

[She called Natalie’s name before stabbing. She was clearly checking her target.]

[She could pretend to have amnesia the second people arrived and immediately ask about the wedding, but we’re supposed to believe she wasn’t aware of anything?]

[The Bennett family is even more frightening. This doesn’t sound like the first time they’ve

stopped a victim from calling for help.]

Dad hired people to have the posts removed, but they spread faster than anyone could delete

them.

Then investigators recovered part of Lily’s phone history.

She had repeatedly searched whether a person with mental illness could go to prison for an assault and whether claiming amnesia afterward would help.

She had also photographed the spare key, saved my wedding schedule, and written down the entire family’s routine for the night before the ceremony.

She hadn’t lost control on impulse. She had planned everything.

When investigators confronted her with the evidence, Lily finally broke.

As officers prepared to take her away again, she tore free and screamed at me.

“I just wanted to stop you from getting married! I planned it perfectly. You were supposed to be in that room! Why was it Mom instead?”

The hallway went silent.

Mom sat in a wheelchair, her face even paler than the hospital sheets.

Only then was she forced to admit the truth. Lily’s two knife thrusts had always been meant to

kill.

This time, they had simply landed in Mom’s body instead of mine.
