Mafia Princess Faked Amnesia, Learned the Truth, and Never Returned Chapter 05

The next day, my mom took out the family heirloom jewelry. She had once promised that she would personally put it on me at my wedding.

After hearing my question, my mom smiled awkwardly. “Well, you haven’t gotten married yet, have you?”

“I consider Isabella half my own daughter, too. What’s wrong with letting her wear it for a day?”

“It’s your own fault for not getting married before she did.”

After hearing this, Isabella didn’t even dare to take it. Luca took the necklace and put it on her. “Take it.”

“Elena has been pestering me for so long.”

“Even giving you this set of jewelry as an apology isn’t too much.”

“I can’t take Elena’s things.” That’s what she said. But when Luca put the necklace on her, she didn’t struggle at all.

She even made a fake promise to me. “Once the wedding is over tomorrow, I’ll give it back to you.”

I laughed out of anger. “No need. Keep it.”

“Anyway, it’s my mom’s stuff. She can give it to whoever she wants.”

On the third day, my mom secretly handed Isabella an estate deed. “The estate we bought for you before — the deed came through today.”

“Young people have their own ideas about decoration. We won’t stick our noses in.”

Isabella proudly waved the estate deed in front of Luca. “I have my own estate now. If you ever dare bully me,”

“I’ll move out and never talk to you again!”

Luca shook his head helplessly. “Anyway, that building I bought is under your name.”

“When I make you angry, you can just kick me out directly.”

“The building you bought is under Isabella’s name?” Luca and I had built up a lot of assets together. Besides the townhouse we co-owned, we’d also spent a fortune building a tower together.

To give me a sense of security, Luca had promised that only my name would be on the building. And now, his building had become Isabella’s.

Luca let out a derisive laugh. “It belongs to me and Isabella. If her name isn’t on it, should yours be?”

My mom looked at me with disappointment. “Are you still hung up on Luca?”

I shook off her hand and snatched the estate deed from Isabella. The estate sat on the plot right next to our family estate.

I had once mentioned to them that I wanted to buy that piece of land as my own separate property. But my mom said there was no need.

“Once you’re married, you and Luca will naturally have your own estate.”

“No need to waste that money.”

But now, she’d bought it as separate property for Isabella. And when I’d wanted to borrow money from them to build the tower with Luca, they’d told me they didn’t have any.

“Mom, between Isabella and me, who is actually your biological daughter?”

“Isabella’s parents were never around.”

“If she has her own estate, she won’t be looked down on by her in-laws.”

“When you get married, I’ll buy you one too. Is that alright?”

Buying an estate for the adopted daughter, willingly. Promising one to the biological daughter, like charity.

I knew they favored Isabella. But I never thought it had gone this far.

I threw the estate deed onto the table. “No need.”

“Since you treat her as your own daughter, let her take care of you in your old age from now on.”

“I won’t be the one doing it.”

My parents had always treated Isabella like a daughter. The next morning, they rushed to the estate chapel to greet the guests.

Because it was a secret wedding, not many guests had been invited. And I packed my bags and secretly headed to the airport.

The guests filed in one after another. No one noticed I wasn’t there. Until the family doctor showed up uninvited.

“Elena said she wanted to scare you a little, so she asked me to play along and tell you she’d lost her memory.”

“Were you frightened?”

“I heard you’re getting married today, so I came specially to congratulate you.”

The smile froze on Luca’s face. “Are you saying Elena never lost her memory?”
