Mafia Princess Faked Amnesia, Learned the Truth, and Never Returned Chapter 03

Luca didn’t take my parents home first. Instead, he brought all of us to the townhouse under my and Luca’s names.

“You insisted on moving into my place and living together with me and Bella.”

“Now that we’re about to get married, it’s time for you to pack up and move out.”

This was supposed to be Luca’s and my home after the wedding. The third person to move in was Isabella.

She was my best friend, so it was only natural for me to keep a room for her in my townhouse.

My parents watched me nervously. They were probably afraid I’d remember something once I was in a familiar place. But I only calmly unbuckled my seatbelt and said, “Okay.”

My parents both sighed in relief. Only Isabella spoke up with fake sincerity. “She doesn’t really have to move, you know.”

“The townhouse is plenty big. Elena can fit.”

Luca frowned and flicked her on the forehead. “If she doesn’t move out, how are we supposed to enjoy our time as a couple? The master bedroom’s soundproofing is terrible.”

Isabella blushed at his teasing and fell silent.

Without another word, I walked alone into the main house of the estate.

When I reached the door of the main house and was about to key in the password, Isabella followed me in, a hint of suspicion on her face.

“I was just worried you wouldn’t be able to find your way here with amnesia. Who knew you’d still remember.”

I snapped out of it and yanked my hand back from the keypad. “Maybe it’s muscle memory. I walked over here without thinking.”

“Then do you remember the password to the main house lock?” I shook my head.

Isabella walked over on her own and typed in 0321. She casually explained to me as she did, “March twenty-first is the day Luca and I first met. Easy to remember, right?”

My whole body jolted. Luca’s phone lock screen password, the main house door password, even the end of his personal email address — all of them had 0321.

I’d gone through the birthdays of everyone around me. I’d ruled out our dating anniversary. I’d even dug up his ex-girlfriend’s birthday.

And I still couldn’t figure out what was so special about those numbers.

Once, out of too much curiosity, I went and pressed him about it. “When I was a kid, I happened to see my parents’ bank card password and phone lock screen password were this.”

“After I got used to it, I just kept using it as my password.”

“It’s probably some special anniversary of theirs.”

I didn’t doubt him. One, because I couldn’t believe he would lie to me. Two, because I’d come across real cases like this online.

But I never, ever imagined that it would be the day he and Isabella first met.

Luca frowned and reminded her, “You shouldn’t casually tell outsiders the main house password. It’s not safe.”

Isabella stuck out her tongue and hooked her arm through his. “But Elena isn’t an outsider.”

Outsider. How laughable. I’d paid for half of this townhouse, and I’d personally supervised every detail of its decoration!

Seeing that my expression wasn’t good, my mom quickly pulled the door open and dragged me inside. “Finish packing and come home early. The doctor said Elena needs rest.”

After I finished packing and came out of the master bedroom, I happened to hear the four of them discussing me in low voices in the living room.

Isabella made a bold guess. “Is there a possibility that Elena is faking amnesia to fool us?”

“Looking at her, she’s acting strangely, but she doesn’t seem like someone who’s completely lost her memory.”

I leaned against the doorframe and eavesdropped. Sure enough, she was my best friend. She knew me very well.

“Impossible.” Luca was the first to deny it. “If she hadn’t lost her memory, she would’ve made a huge scene by now.”

“She wouldn’t be as calm as she is now.”

“Besides, I made a point of asking the doctor myself. She really has lost her memory.”

Isabella still wasn’t reassured. “But what if one day she recovers her memory and finds out we lied to her?”
