I’ll Handle These Two Idiots Chapter 16

The hotel entrance was swarmed with media trucks.

Across the street, Bruno and Tiffany sat in a private room at a restaurant, watching the circus with cold detachment.

“I’m not showing up.”

“Let’s see how the Sinclair family spins this.”

Bruno clutched his phone, waiting for a call from me or his mother.

He was sure the engagement couldn’t proceed without him, and he was still hoping to negotiate terms at the last minute.

The entire ceremony was being livestreamed online.

At the appointed time, the grand doors of the ballroom swung open.

Spotlights found me as I entered, wearing a custom gown, my arm linked with a tall, handsome man in a Tom Ford suit.

Together, we walked onto the stage and signed the official documents.

Aunt Isabella then took the microphone and announced that this young man was being formally adopted into the Santoro family, and would be named a future heir to the Santoro Group.

The entire ballroom rose to its feet in a wave of thunderous applause.

When the camera zoomed in on my face, and then on the face of the man beside me, Bruno froze.

“What the hell is going on?”

“If he’s an heir, then what am I?”

Tiffany was equally stunned.

Only then did she realize how badly she had miscalculated.

Bruno bolted from the restaurant and sprinted across the street toward the hotel.

“I’m Bruno Santoro! I’m the heir to the Santoro family!”

Security guards at the entrance grabbed him and shoved him to the ground.

“Get lost, pal. We’re watching the livestream on the big screen. The real Santoro heir is inside getting engaged.”

“If you want to play make-believe, do it somewhere else.”

With that, they dragged him to the curb and threw him onto the sidewalk.
