I’ll Handle These Two Idiots Chapter 02

Tiffany froze.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

She whirled back to the flight attendant.

“Check her ticket. If there’s anything wrong with it, I want you to call the police.”

The flight attendant fumbled with her handheld device, typing in my name. A few seconds later, her face tightened. “Miss Tiffany,” she said, her voice strained, “there’s nothing wrong with Ms. Blythe Sinclair’s ticket. The system shows it was booked directly through the Santoro family office.”

I hid a smile. Aunt Isabella had, of course, booked this ticket for me weeks ago.

The color drained from Tiffany’s face.

“Are you one of Bruno’s other women?”

“You’re shameless,” she hissed. “Trying to get your claws into Bruno while I’m pregnant. I just got rid of one of you, and now here’s another.”

Her hand flew up, aiming for my face. I caught her wrist mid-swing.

“The woman Bruno is marrying next month,” I said, my voice low and even, “is not you.”

“You should figure out your place in all this before you ever think about touching me.”

I shoved her hand away and slapped her hard across the face.

The sharp crack of the slap echoed in the quiet cabin.

Tiffany staggered back, clutching her cheek. Her body went rigid, a look of pure shock on her face. It was clear no one had ever laid a hand on her before.

“So what if he has a fiancée?” she spat. “I’m the one he loves. The one who isn’t loved is always the third wheel.”

“And I’d say the same thing to her face if she were standing right here.”

Her face flushed a deep red. She lunged for me again, but the flight attendant caught her by the arm.

“Miss Tiffany, we’re experiencing some turbulence. Please, return to your seat. You’re pregnant; you shouldn’t be on your feet.”

“There’s a private lounge up front. Why don’t I help you there for a bit?”

The flight attendant, clearly not wanting to take sides, was just trying to de-escalate.

Tiffany was still swearing under her breath as the attendant led her away.

The cabin fell silent. Finally, some peace.

After we landed at JFK, I was wheeling my suitcase through the arrivals corridor when a wall of men in black suits suddenly blocked my path.

“That’s her!” Tiffany’s voice cut through the air. “She’s the one who hit me on the plane. Grab her!”

So Tiffany had come prepared.

Before I could react, two of the men grabbed my arms, pinning them behind my back.

Tiffany smirked. “These are the bodyguards Bruno hired for me. All ex-special forces. Let’s see you try to get away now.”

“Today, I’m going to teach you a lesson myself. I’ll make sure you never forget who I am.”
