I’ll Handle These Two Idiots Chapter 13

In the Santoro dining room, Bruno sat hunched over the table, shoveling food into his mouth. He devoured three large plates of pasta in quick succession.

Aunt Isabella sat at the head of the table, a placid smile on her face. She took my hand and placed it next to Bruno’s on the tablecloth.

“The Sinclairs and the Santoros have always been close. You two grew up together. There’s a bond there that can’t be denied.”

“Bruno came back of his own free will. Let’s put the past behind us. I apologize to you on his behalf.”

With that, she raised her wineglass in a toast to me.

As the junior, I immediately stood and returned the gesture.

Aunt Isabella continued, “The most important thing now is preparing for next month’s engagement party. The media will be there in full force. It’s when we’ll announce the two families’ joint new-energy venture.”

“I will handle the other… distractions.”

As she spoke, she gave me a pointed look.

I knew exactly what she meant. She was talking about Tiffany.

Aunt Isabella had been cleaning up Bruno’s messes his entire life. She had run the Santoro Group for decades with an iron fist; I trusted her to be decisive.

This engagement was a matter of business for both our families, so I didn’t press for details.

Still, looking at Bruno’s pathetic state, I couldn’t resist a jab.

“Someone said he could be independent. Funny how he came running home anyway.”

I expected him to snap back.

The Bruno I knew would never have let that slide.

If he had, I would have finally gotten the apology he owed me.

But this time, he was strangely silent.

He didn’t even look at me. He just picked up a fresh bottle of red wine and began to pour a glass for his mother.

“Mom, I was immature. Let me get that for you.”
