I’ll Handle These Two Idiots Chapter 10

“He was so desperate to start his own company… so this was why. So he could walk away from me one day.”

I rested a hand on her shoulder.

“Aunt Isabella, he’ll be back in less than a week. Regretting this.”

She looked at me, a flicker of hope in her eyes.

I held up my phone and smiled.

While they’d been talking, I had already sent a few text messages to my father and to those investors.

A few seconds later, Bruno’s phone began to buzz incessantly.

One notification after another, a relentless cascade.

Bruno was forced to stop. He set Tiffany down and looked at his phone.

One withdrawal notice after another scrolled across his screen.

His face grew paler with each one.

“What’s happening?”

“Why is everyone pulling out?”

I held up my phone and met his gaze from across the tarmac.

He understood instantly. His eyes burned with a look that could have torn me apart.

“Blythe Sinclair, what the hell did you do?”

Aunt Isabella stepped directly in front of me, shielding me from his rage.

“Who do you think you’re yelling at?”

“What right do you have to be angry with Blythe?”

“If it weren’t for Blythe, your company would have folded a year ago.”

Bruno went completely still.

“Mom, what are you talking about?”

“My company, my investors… I found them. What does Blythe have to do with any of it?”

Aunt Isabella looked at him, her voice laced with disappointment.

“To protect you from the failure of your first venture, and because I didnd’t want you to know the family was involved, the Sinclairs arranged for every single one of your major investors to find you.”

Bruno just kept shaking his head.

“Impossible. I negotiated those deals myself, one by one, at dinners and meetings.”
