I Was Supposed to Attack the Hockey Captain, Then He Cried in My Arms Chapter 06

Julian Ashford’s voice was like a spring breeze.

No wonder he had been voted Ashworth’s gentle campus heartthrob.

“Sure.”

I reached into my backpack.

Julian and I lived in the same dorm building.

His grades were seriously lopsided, and he often borrowed my notes before.

From beside me came Caelan’s voice.

“Elara, don’t buy this many next time. I can’t finish them.”

My hand paused while taking out the notes.

I turned to look at him.

Maybe it was my imagination, but Caelan’s expression did not look good.

In terms of looks, Caelan did not lose to Julian at all.

In fact, when Caelan first transferred in, some people guessed Julian might not be able to keep the “campus heartthrob” title.

Unfortunately, Caelan’s face was too cold.

He walked around all day looking like someone owed him eight million dollars.

His playing style was especially aggressive, so people became even less willing to mess with him.

For example, right now, he was eating a cupcake while looking at me with icy eyes.

It took me one second to react.

I casually picked up a cupcake from the desk and handed it to Julian with the notes.

“Have one too.”

Julian looked at me, then at Caelan beside me.

He raised an eyebrow and took the things before leaving.

“Thanks.”

I also reached for a cupcake.

But Caelan suddenly gripped my wrist.

I looked confused.

“Didn’t you say you couldn’t finish them? I’ll help you eat one…”

Caelan put all the cupcakes into his drawer and glared at me.

“Mind your business. If I can’t finish them, I’ll eat them slowly.”

I was speechless.

The hockey captain’s brain circuit was clearly very different from normal people’s.

Caelan’s ankle was still red and swollen, so I naturally did not dare listen to the system and attack him with big moves again.

But the system still had a long way to go to hit its KPI.

So every day, I jumped along Caelan’s bottom line.

I poked his arm with a ballpoint pen and listened to him suck in a breath.

Every now and then, I secretly kicked his injured foot, then immediately apologized like I had accidentally bumped him.

He seemed used to it too.

Only when it really hurt would he frown and glare at me.

The system kept sighing in my head.

[Is Caelan’s foot still not healed? Can we start using big moves yet? You’ve been pinching his arm and twisting his waist lately, and his Humiliation Points don’t even change.]

I was helpless too.

“Maybe he’s developed tolerance? People can get used to pain.”

Just as we were talking, Julian walked over.

He lifted his hand and gently knocked on my desk.

“Elara, returning this.”

A cookie sat on top of my notebook.

I looked at him in surprise.

“What’s this?”

Julian looked a little embarrassed.

“I ate your cupcake last time. I made this myself. Try it and see if you like it.”

Before I could react, one hand appeared in front of me.

Julian looked at the hand, then up at Caelan, clearly not understanding what he wanted.

“Julian, I want one too.”

Caelan’s voice still carried the dark rasp of just waking up.

He lazily lifted his eyelids and looked at Julian.

Julian frowned slightly.

“I only made one.”

Stuck between them, I felt the atmosphere becoming suffocating.

So I picked up the cookie and broke it in half.

“Half for you.”

Caelan lowered his lashes and stared at the cookie in his palm without speaking.

Julian left.

Caelan shoved the cookie into his mouth and lowered his head to chew, lost in thought.

I had just lifted my hand to put the remaining half into my mouth when Caelan’s hand reached out again.

“Good. Want more.”

I almost laughed from anger.

After casually stuffing it into his palm, Caelan looked at me quietly.

“If you want to eat some, I’ll have my housekeeper make them for you tomorrow.”

I gave a light scoff.

“Then why don’t you make them?”

Caelan said nothing.

The system stirred trouble in my ear.

[He’s definitely showing off that his family has a housekeeper. What a poser.]

Lately, it had a lot of opinions about Caelan.

Ever since realizing Caelan’s Humiliation Points barely moved, it found him especially annoying.

Caelan threw the other half of the cookie into his mouth and muttered softly, “Doesn’t even taste that good. This side is burned…”

A fly slowly landed on his cheek.

The system screamed with excitement.

[Slap him!]

My eyes widened.

The system was going crazy.

[Quick, slap him! The fly will leave if you wait!]

Caelan was still rambling.

“Did he buy this? Why does it taste like industrial sugar…”

Smack!

A crisp sound rang out.

The entire lecture hall went quiet.

Everyone stared at me with wide eyes.
