I Was Supposed to Attack the Hockey Captain, Then He Cried in My Arms Chapter 02

A huge crash came from the side.

The noisy lecture hall went dead silent.

Caelan was half-kneeling on the floor in a humiliating position, one palm pressed against the corner of the neighboring desk.

His hand was clearly scraped.

Only two words remained in my mind.

I . DEAD.

I hurriedly reached out to pull him up.

“Cae…”

Before I could touch him, Caelan dusted himself off and stood.

“You did that on purpose.”

His tone was certain, his eyes locked hard on me.

I was too guilty to look at him.

The pressure around Caelan was so low that many people in class no longer dared to watch. Afraid of being dragged into it, half of them pushed and shoved their way out.

“Sorry, I…” I could not bring myself to say I had not meant it.

Caelan did not hit me.

He did not even curse me.

He only stared at the top of my head for a few seconds, then turned and left.

The system was wildly excited in my ear.

[Ten Humiliation Points in one go!]

I collapsed onto the desk and almost cried.

“Unbind me. I’m done. If this happens again, Caelan really will kill me.”

The look he gave me just now made it seem like he wanted to throw me off the eightieth floor.

The system coaxed me.

[Relax. I will absolutely guarantee his safety. Think of your bonus. You’ve already made eight thousand dollars today.]

My chest felt heavy.

After thinking for a long time, I still got up and went out.

When I came back, Caelan was already in his seat.

I carefully poked him with one finger.

Once.

Twice.

Caelan finally turned his head, his brows full of hostility.

“What?”

I jumped.

As expected of the hockey captain, even his tone was terrifying.

I pushed the things toward him.

Caelan’s expression stayed dark.

“Don’t use this trick to chase me. It’s tacky as hell. Also, has no one told you I don’t eat things from people trying to hit on me?”

I froze, a little unable to process it.

“Huh?”

Caelan looked at me with disdain.

“Sitting beside me, doing little stunts to get my attention. Isn’t that…”

I felt awkward and pulled a bottle of Neosporin from my pocket.

“Caelan, you’re overthinking it. I don’t like you. I just wanted to apologize. I’m sorry.”

Looking at the Neosporin in my hand, Caelan’s gaze froze on my face.

After realizing my eyes were sincere and did not dodge his, and that my face did not flush at all under his stare, Caelan’s expression grew even darker.

He took the Neosporin and turned away, ignoring me.

The red velvet cupcake sat lonely between us.

No one touched it until class was almost over.

My allowance had always been tight. I had spent more than half of it on this, something I normally could never bear to buy for myself.

Near the end of class, I poked Caelan again.

He gave a low, irritated “tsk” and looked back at me without speaking.

“Caelan, if you’re not eating this, can I take it back?”

The air went quiet.

I felt a little embarrassed.

Caelan clearly could not be bothered with me. He turned his back, leaving only the back of his speechless head.

I mentally high-fived myself.

Caelan was not as scary as the rumors said.

Although I did feel sorry for him, I had made eight thousand dollars today at zero cost.

That return was better than the stock market.

I negotiated with the system and told it to stretch the task cycle as much as possible.

If we kept going at today’s pace, I was afraid Caelan would actually be tormented to death.

After class, Caelan left even faster than I did.

This time, he did not pass in front of me. He stepped onto the desk and jumped out directly.

I stared, dumbfounded.

By the time I reacted, Caelan and that cupcake were both gone.
