Damon immediately fell silent.

“The mirror…”

is broken.”

“It doesn’t work anymore.”

Then he whipped around to look at me.

“You saw it, Bree!”

“You saw Owen and me go in and come back out!”

“Tell them what you saw!”

Every eye in the room turned to me.

I shook my head, looking panicked.

“No.”

“I never saw that.”

“If I’d seen something that bizarre, I would’ve called the police immediately.”

Then I looked at Damon with concern.

“Damon, are you okay?”

“Did what happened to you make you start hallucinating?”

“You must’ve been through something awful.”

“Otherwise, you wouldn’t be saying things like this.”

Damon’s mouth fell open.

He just stared at me.

The police officer took me out of the room.

“Bree, we haven’t been able to identify the woman Damon brought to the hospital to give birth.”

“We haven’t been able to trace her after she left either.”

“It’s possible she was connected to some kind of criminal organization.”

“We’ll keep investigating.”

“As for Damon, we’d recommend having him evaluated by a doctor.”

“It looks like he was put through a lot while he was there.”

I nodded.

“Thank you.”

“But the fact that he cheated on me hasn’t changed.”

“What happens to him from now on has nothing to do with me.”

“I’ll contact a psychiatric hospital for him.”

After saying that, I contacted a psychiatric hospital right away.

When Damon came out of the interview room, he was taken straight to the waiting car.

Before getting in, he was still shouting.

“I’m not talking nonsense!”

“I’m not mentally ill!”
