I Smashed Their Royal Dream Chapter 02

I Smashed Their Royal Dream Chapter 02

Owen was sitting to my left, repeatedly telling me to get out of the car.

But I didn’t react at all.

It wasn’t until he reached over and shoved me, his face full of impatience, that I finally reacted.

“Mom, move.”

“You’re in the way.”

“The Princess is in serious condition.”

“If anything happens to her, Dad and I won’t be able to help you!”

Owen was only ten, but he was surprisingly strong.

Caught off guard, I slammed into the side of the car.

The back of my head hit so hard that stars burst across my vision.

Neither Damon nor Owen even looked at me.

Only after the Princess was wheeled into the labor and delivery room did the tension on their faces ease slightly.

I stood a short distance away, watching them pace anxiously.

Watching them lean close and whisper to each other in worried voices.

Slowly, I walked up behind Damon.

“Damon.”

“I think I’ve lost my hearing in one ear.”

The floating comments froze for a beat before exploding across my vision.

[That scumbag transferred the cost onto the female lead? One ear?!]

[Oh my God, I’m furious!]

[I support the female lead smashing that antique bronze mirror again!]

In front of me, Damon and Owen both stiffened.

It took Damon several seconds to turn around.

The impatience on his face looked almost like he was trying to hide something.

“This is hospital.”

“If you can’t hear, go see a doctor.”

“What do you want me to do about it?”

With only one working ear, Damon’s voice sounded distant and muffled.

But the coldness in it still seemed to seep straight into my bones.

Owen turned toward me too, his brows pulled tight.

“Mom, can you stop being so dramatic?”

“It’s just one ear.”

“We have more important things to worry about right now.”

“Do you even know who’s in there?”

“If it weren’t for her, Dad and I would’ve died in that brutal world a long time ago!”

“And you’re my mom.”

“You kept saying you’d find a way to stop us from crossing into another world.”

“But you still haven’t found one!”

He rolled his eyes, his face full of disgust and contempt.

They’d clearly agreed on this story beforehand.

I felt hurt.

And deeply disappointed.

Then I remembered my previous life.

I’d stupidly let myself be bled dry for them just to seal the mirror, only to die in the end.

My hands curled into fists.

I was just about to call them out when the operating-room doors suddenly burst open.

“The patient is bleeding heavily!”

“We’re out of type B blood!”

“Is anyone here type B?”

“She needs a blood transfusion right now!”

A large hand shoved me forward from behind.

Damon knew perfectly well that I had severe anemia.

During our first year of marriage, Damon had been helpless when it came to everyday life.

But back then, he’d still awkwardly tried to find ways to help me regain my strength.

Now, he was the one who had pushed me forward.

By the time they finished taking 400 mL of blood, my legs were trembling.

I braced myself against the wall and slowly made my way out.

When I looked up, the operating-room doors were already open.

Damon stood there beaming, holding a tiny newborn in his arms.

Owen bounced excitedly beside him.

“Dad!”

“Let me see my baby sister!”

“Come on, let me see her!”

Damon ignored him.

Instead, he bent down and gently wiped the sweat from the woman’s face.

“Babe.”

“You did so well.”

Then he pressed a tender kiss to her forehead.

I quietly stepped back into the shadows.

The tears finally spilled over.

The blood loss made the room tilt around me.

I couldn’t stay on my feet anymore.

I passed out.
