I Saw Comments Saying I Would Die Alone After the Fourth Divorce Chapter 07

Julian went still. He looked at me for a long time – longer than he had during any of the previous times. This time, he didn’t say “okay.” He said, “Why?”

I looked up at that maddeningly calm face and every bit of fight drained out of me.

I didn’t even have enough energy left to wonder why he’d gone off-script.

I hurled the papers at him.

“You know exactly what you did last night! You showered

wash? You hate that stuff!”

and since when do you use fruity body

Julian said nothing. He bent down, picked the papers off the floor, and started reading. With every

page, his jaw tightened.

Had I asked for too much?

I glanced away, suddenly defensive.

“You’re the one who cheated, so seventy percent isn’t unreasonable. Right?”

“I’m telling you right now, I’m not walking away with nothing this time. The infidelity clause in our

prenup guarantees it, so…”

Julian closed the folder. The silence held for one long beat. “What exactly did I do?”

This man had some nerve. I shot up from the couch, fists at my sides, and before I could think about how insane it would sound, I threw the version of last night the comments had fed me right in his

face.

“Didn’t you rush off to save Audrey last night? Some client was trying to get her drunk, so the big CEO swoops in to play hero – and then the two of you spent the whole night together! Didn’t even pick up the phone!”

“Need me to spell it out for you? Because I will, Julian!”

Julian stared at me. And then – completely against the script – he laughed.

God, he was unfairly beautiful when he smiled. I nearly lost my grip on the anger entirely – I had to physically reset my glare.

“One of my project sites had an emergency last night. Police and press everywhere. I was there all

night. My phone fell in a puddle – it’s dead.”

“I figured you’d be asleep by then. I didn’t think you’d call. I’m sorry.”

Something in my face must have shifted, because Julian’s mouth twitched.

“As for Audrey – she got harassed by a client on company time. That’s a company problem. I told

Simon to deal with it.”

“She’s an employee. Why would I run over there myself?”

“I was at a construction site all night – covered in mud. So I showered at Simon’s place before

coming home. You freak out when I track mud across the carpet. Remember?”

I stood there with my mouth open and not a single word coming out. None of this matched what the

comments had said.

I had nothing. Not a single comeback. So when Julian lifted me off my feet and carried me to bed, I let him. My brain had officially shut down.

Even the comments had lost their confidence.

[Wait WHAT?? The ML didn’t go save the FL – he was at a work emergency this whole time?]

[WE GOT PLAYED. Why were we only seeing the villainess’s POV last night?? I’m filing a complaint!]

[Okay I’ve been holding this in but… does anyone else feel like the ML isn’t actually being forced? Like what if the CEO genuinely just has a thing for airheads?]

[No way, the ML is only keeping his distance from the FL because of her dad’s influence!!… But wait. If the villainess’s dad doesn’t die now, does that mean the ML is stuck with her forever?? HELP]
