I Ordered A Puppy Got Two Incubi Instead Chapter 09

Xavier was still in phase one of the termination process: 

electrocution. 

The shocks were stripping away his humanity bit by bit. He 

was already a third of the way into full demonic feralization. If 

we’d arrived even an hour later, once he lost himself 

completely, there would’ve been no bringing him back. 

Thank God we made it in time. 

“Xavier!” I shouted, panic clawing up my throat. 

He slowly lifted his head. 

His gaze locked onto me with raw aggression. Human reason 

and primal instinct warred violently behind his eyes. He 

clutched his head in agony, breathing raggedly before finally 

forcing out a broken whisper. 

“…Mistress.” 

The agents from the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs 

immediately backed off. 

Not because they felt guilty. 

Cases like this happened all the time. Someone unknowingly bought a Demon disguised as an Incubus, hid it from the 

authorities, and eventually the creature got sent to a disposal facility after being discovered. 

One of the agents adjusted his glasses and said flatly, “We 

traced your online purchase and determined you were 

deceived into buying a Demon under false classification. Since 

you were unaware of its true nature, the Bureau is authorized 

to dispose of dangerous entities on your behalf.” 

I stared at Xavier’s barely conscious body strapped to the chair and nearly exploded. 

“Dangerous?” I snapped. “He saved someone! That’s what you’re calling evil now? And if you already knew I was his contractor, why the hell didn’t anyone notify me first?” 

If I hadn’t gotten there in time, they would’ve cremated him first and filed paperwork later. 

The agent stiffened when I refused to react the way they 

clearly expected. 

“Ma’am, your bond was formed, yes, but it was never officially 

registered…” 

I cut him off immediately. 

“And where exactly in your regulations does it say bonding and registration have to be completed within a specific timeframe?” 

Silence. 

“I took time to evaluate him first. Now I’m done evaluating. I’m keeping my Demon, and I want the contract registered today.” 

The entire room went quiet. 

I had technically found a loophole in Bureau policy, and somehow, it worked. 

Xavier was released. 

Unfortunately, the Bureau still wasn’t willing to let it go. 

“For public safety reasons,” they informed me, “we’ll be conducting mandatory monthly home inspections to ensure the Demon can integrate into normal society without 

incident.” 

Wonderful. 

The problem was that Xavier had already partially feralized. If 

he wasn’t kept close to me, his mood became violently 

unstable. 

Which meant one thing. 

I needed to retrain my Demon. Fast. 

So I texted Maya, the undisputed queen of useless 

supernatural trivia. 

[How do you tame a Demon?] 

Maya replied instantly. 

[Wait. You actually ended up with a Demon?!] 

[Girl, I thought about buying one before but chickened out.] 

[Demons are hardcore mode.] 

[My body definitely couldn’t handle that kind of stress.] 

[Incubi and Demons are totally different species emotionally. 

Incubi exist to spoil you emotionally. Demons need YOU to 

emotionally manage THEM.] 

I frowned at my screen. 

[Okay… how?] 

Maya’s answer was brutally concise. 

[Hit him.] 

[…..?] 

[Seriously. I researched this before. Demons need dominance 

training. They’re naturally aggressive, so you fight fire with 

fire. If he refuses to submit, you beat him until he does.] 

…So basically old–school corporal punishment? 

Another message popped up. 

[And don’t feel guilty about traumatizing him either. Demons 

are freaks. Most of them are lowkey into pain and obedience 

stuff.] 

[The harder you hit them, the more obsessed they get.] 

[Seriously, they LOVE it.] 

[Beat him hard enough and he’ll become completely addicted 

to you.] 

That explained a lot. 

The last few times I’d smacked Xavier out of frustration, not 

only had he refused to fight back… 

There had been something disturbingly excited in his eyes. 

After finishing my conversation with Maya, I left my bedroom 

intending to test her advice out a little. 

But before I reached the guest room, I overheard voices inside. 

Adrian and Xavier were arguing. 

“Oh, quit the act,” Adrian sneered. “We’re twins. You think I 

can’t tell exactly when you recovered? Pretending to be 

unstable just so you can monopolize Mistress‘ attention? That’s pathetic even for you.” 

Xavier sounded perfectly calm. 

“Life’s competitive. Skill issue.” 

I stopped dead outside the door. 

Excuse me? 

I had been losing sleep worrying about him spiraling into full 

feral corruption, terrified the Bureau would drag him back for disposal at any second… 

And this asshole had been pretending the whole time? 

Inside the room, Xavier gave a lazy chuckle. 

“If you can’t beat me, learn to cope.” 

Adrian let out a cold laugh. 

“Is that so?” 

The next morning, Adrian appeared at my bedroom door looking pale and weak. 

“Mistress…” he murmured softly. “I think I have a fever.” 

If I hadn’t overheard the twins the night before, I probably 

would’ve fallen for it. 

He lowered his lashes, looking heartbreakingly pitiful. 

“It’s okay. Don’t worry about me. Xavier needs you more anyway. I’m fine.” 

I knew Xavier was listening nearby. 

So I deliberately softened my voice, reached up, and kissed 

Adrian gently on the forehead. 

“No,” I said sweetly. “You’re more important. Come here. Let 

me take care of you.” 

Somewhere down the hall, I practically felt Xavier’s fury 

explode.
