“Forget the bag,” Conrad suddenly cut in, interrupting Veronica.

Though his face remained pale, his spirit had largely recovered, restoring his majestic presence as the head of the family.

“We just survived a major crisis, and before even thinking about stabilizing the business, you’re already talking about buying handbags.”

Reprimanded by Conrad, Veronica lowered her head awkwardly.

Yet I could see the uncontainable excitement hidden in her eyes.

Not only was the Kensington Group saved, but they had also unexpectedly gained the support of an unimaginably powerful powerhouse.

For someone who always put family interests first, this meant more than anything.

“Dad,” I gently pulled on Ezra’s arm, gesturing for him to help Conrad sit down. “Veronica has worked hard for this family over the years. It’s just a handbag.”

I added nonchalantly, “The boutique manager in Beverly Hills mentioned that a batch of top-tier rare leathers will arrive next month. I’ll have them delivered straight to Veronica’s room then.”

Veronica whipped her head up, her eyes lit with shocking intensity. “Really?” Her voice cracked slightly. “Thank you, Willow!”

The Wall Street M&A Queen, once a force on finance trading floors, now looked like a little girl who had just been given candy.

Sloane watched from the side, envy practically radiating off her.

“Willow…” she nudged closer, her tone carrying a touch of flattery. “I’ve had my eye on a Birkin with diamond hardware lately…”

I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. Elite corporate leaders or brainless trophy wives—no woman had any immunity against limited-edition luxury goods.

“You’ll both get one,” I waved my hand generously. “They’re produced by my own factories anyway.”

The atmosphere in the living room lightened completely.

Jarvis led the staff to quickly clean up the mess on the floor and lay down a fresh Persian rug.

The terrifying takeover attempt from earlier felt like nothing more than a bad dream.

Ezra kept a tight grip on my hand. He looked at me, his eyes filled with pride and profound relief.

“Boss,” he leaned down, whispering playfully into my ear. “Does this mean I’m a kept man now?”

I shot him a sideways glance. “Depends on your performance. If you don’t raise my Black Card limit soon, I’ll consider swiping someone else’s.”

Ezra threw his hands up in defeat immediately. “Consider it raised. Unlimited balance—you can swipe as much as you like.”

Sloane’s phone chimed. She looked down at the screen and nearly jumped in excitement.

“The funds arrived!” She waved her phone in front of everyone. “Not only did our drained cash flow return, but all the liquidated capital from Stellar Capital was wired directly into our account by Richard!”

Conrad stared at the long string of zeroes on the bank account, letting out a deep, long breath of relief. “The Kensington family is officially back on solid ground.”

He turned to me, his eyes brimming with gratitude. “Willow, the family owes you a debt we can never repay.”

I looked at the stubborn yet fiercely protective old man and shook my head softly.

“Dad, we’re family,” I said sincerely. “When Asher cornered you, you didn’t throw me out as a shield. You even had Ezra secure a way out for me. For that alone, I’ll make sure the Kensingtons never fall.”

Outside, bright sunlight streamed through the windows, dispelling the last remaining shadow in the living room.

“What do you want for dinner?” Ezra rubbed my hair gently. “I’ll have the kitchen make it.”

I stretched and let out a small yawn. “All that drama this morning. I’m exhausted. Have the chef send some lobster thermidor up to my room.”
