I clicked on the photo of the Himalaya Crocodile Birkin and sent it to my exclusive boutique stylist.

“I’ll take this one,” I said casually.

Sloane heard me and frowned deeply. “Willow, our family’s operational resources are on the verge of being fully restricted. Can you refrain from new custom orders for now?”

Her tone held suppressed frustration, yet she did not speak harshly to me.

That was the Kensington way—no matter how they underestimated me, they always preserved my dignity.

“Let her have what she likes,” Conrad suddenly said, his voice heavy with fatigue. “Ezra, arrange this for her through our private custom channels. The Kensingtons have not fallen so far as to deny her a single luxury piece.”

My hand holding the iPad paused. I looked up at my gray-haired father-in-law.

“Thank you, Dad,” I said quietly.

Veronica sighed anxiously. “Dad, Asher will arrive any moment. If he asks you to surrender the chairman’s seal, what will we do?”

Conrad closed his eyes, his fingers trembling slightly.

A loud engine roar echoed from outside the mansion.

Jarvis, the butler, rushed inside in panic, sweat lining his forehead. “Mr. Kensington, Mr. Locke has arrived.”

Ezra stood up instantly and shielded me firmly behind his back.

“Go upstairs first,” he whispered seriously. “Don’t come out, no matter what you hear.”

I stared at his tense profile and stayed in place.

“I’m not finished choosing yet,” I said, waving the iPad lightly.

Veronica took a deep breath, struggling to contain her worry and anger.

She stepped in front of me and looked down with a cold, stern gaze. “Willow. This is not the time for willfulness.”
