I Only Wanted Luxury Shopping, and Accidentally Saved the Whole Family Chapter 10

The air froze instantly. Everyone stood rooted to the spot, unable to believe what they’d just heard.

Asher’s finger froze over his phone. He slowly raised his head and looked at me like I had lost my mind.

“What did you say?” he asked, his voice low and laced with suppressed rage.

Veronica was the first to react. She grabbed my arm with shocking force.

“Willow, have you lost your mind?” she roared in a hushed tone. “What the hell are you doing right now? Stop making a spectacle of yourself.”

Ezra panicked too. He tried to pull me behind him again. “Willow, stop this. This has nothing to do with you.”

I shook off their hands. Holding my coffee cup, I took my time walking over to the coffee table and set it down right next to that stack of so-called qualification documents.

“I’m not crazy, and I’m not acting out,” I said, looking Asher straight in the eye without backing down. “I said you’re wearing a cheap counterfeit.”

I pointed at the watch face. “The custom Patek Philippe Celestial features a hand-painted galaxy on the dial. There should be a microscopic, hidden signature right where the six o’clock index marker meets the nebula.”

I watched his face drain of color and sneered. “Yours doesn’t just lack the signature—even the nebula gradient looks blurry. In a Beverly Hills flea market, a piece of trash like that goes for two hundred bucks at most.”

Asher instinctively pulled his hand back into his sleeve. But he quickly composed himself and let out a cold laugh. “Utterly ridiculous.”

He turned to Conrad. “Mr. Kensington, has your family really stooped so low that you rely on a woman who only knows how to buy handbags to make a scene? If this is your stalling tactic, I must say, it’s pathetic.”

Sloane looked at me, her eyes filled with despair and anger. “Willow, enough already. Mr. Locke is worth hundreds of billions—how could he possibly wear a fake watch? You think flipping through a few luxury magazines makes you an expert?”

I turned to look at the prestigious venture capitalist. “Sloane, you read people well, but you’re blind when it comes to things like this.”

Ignoring Sloane’s dark face, I picked up the qualification documents on the table.

Asher’s bodyguard immediately stepped forward to block me.

My eyes turned cold. “Back off.”

I didn’t even glance at the bodyguard, spitting out those words with absolute authority.

Stunned by my sudden aura, he actually froze in his tracks.

Asher narrowed his eyes. “Let her look.”

His tone carried a dangerous edge of provocation. “I’d love to see what a trophy wife who can’t even read a financial statement can pull out of documents issued by the world’s top evaluation agency.”
