I Made a Bracelet for the Man Who Didn’t Love Me, and He Wore It for Two Years Chapter 09

I saw Cole again two days later.

That day,

one of our business partners kept pressuring me to drink until my stomach hurt.

Cole happened to pass by and stepped in.

Then he took me to the hospital.

Apparently they recognized Cole, because every meeting after that, they treated me with careful politeness.

I was grateful enough that I took Cole out to dinner.

I brought up what had happened.

But he said,

“Actually, you should thank Grant. We were having dinner in a private room across the hall. He was the one who noticed first and told me to check on you.”

I went still.

I hadn’t realized Grant had been there too.

“Then thank him for me too.”

Cole laughed.

“Grant? He’s busy with his girlfriend. No time for me.”

He wasn’t wrong.

Vivian loved sharing her life online.

Almost every day, another lovestruck Instagram Story showed up in my feed.

In the photos,

Grant appeared every now and then, usually no more than the edge of his profile.

After dinner, Cole and I walked out of the restaurant together.

We ran into Grant at the entrance.

Cole grinned. “Grant? What are you doing here?”

“Where’s Vivian?”

Grant’s gaze moved from Cole to me.

There wasn’t a hint of a smile on his face.

“We fought.”

Cole raised an eyebrow.

“You waited years to get back together and now you’re fighting? Go fix it.”

Grant gave a quiet acknowledgment.

Then, without another word, he walked away.

I assumed he was going to find Vivian.
