I Funded His Company And He Funded His Affair With My Money Chapter 05

Everyone present froze for a moment.

The next second, the room erupted into a storm of whispers.

“Married into her family? Is that true…”

“No wonder Mr. Robinson became CEO in just a few years…”

“Does that mean… the company belongs to Mrs. Robinson’s family?”

Nevaeh’s face paled visibly in an instant.

Hayden’s hands clenched violently, his knuckles white.

He glared at me with teeth grinding so hard his jaw looked ready to crack, and his voice sounded

like it was being squeezed through gritted teeth. “Stop talking nonsense!”

“When did I marry into your family? The law doesn’t recognize anything like that!” His voice

suddenly rose, as if to build his courage. “Everything we own after marriage is marital property!

That’s how it will be even if you take this to court!”

At that, he suddenly straightened up as if he’d found a lifeline and let out a cold laugh. “And even if this company was yours at first, so what?”

He looked around the room, his gaze sweeping over every employee, his tone full of self-assured

dominance. “You’ve been gone from the company for more than five years. Who has been running it? Who has been making the decisions? Who has been leading everyone to make money?”

“It’s me! Everyone here was personally promoted by me! You think you can walk back in, say a few

words, and they’ll listen to you?”

The air went still.

A moment later, someone murmured in agreement.

“Mr. Robinson has a point…”

“He really has been running the company all these years…”

“She’s just a housewife…”

The murmurs began to side with him.

Nevaeh recovered quickly. Her panic flashed in her eyes for a second, then she returned to her pitiful, delicate demeanor.

She stepped forward and gently tugged Hayden’s sleeve, her voice soft, “Mr. Robinson, please dea’t be angry…”

She turned to me then, her eyes slightly red, her tone carrying a hidden sense of superiority. “Mrs. Robinson, I understand that you’re upset.”

“You’ve been at home for so many years and haven’t really been involved with company affairs. It’s only natural that you might have a hard time accepting things all at once.”

She sighed lightly, as if granting me pity. “But a company isn’t child’s play. You can’t run it with just emotions.”

She paused, the corner of her mouth lifting into a faint smile. “It seems… besides spending money carelessly, you haven’t really done anything for Mr. Robinson or the company, have you?”

A few quiet snickers came from the crowd.

Her voice grew softer, yet sharper. “Don’t worry. I’m not trying to take your place as Mrs. Robinson.

I just want to share Mr. Robinson’s burden and help him run the company well.”

“There’s no need for you to be so anxious….” She suddenly turned around, her tone shifting to righteous coldness. “She’s clearly lost control and is throwing a fit. Security! Get her out of here now. Don’t let her disturb everyone’s work.”

Several security guards exchanged looks.

They hesitated for a second, then began walking toward me.

At the same time, the attitudes of the surrounding employees shifted completely.

“Exactly. This is a company, not a place for her to cause a scene…”

“No matter what, she shouldn’t be disrupting work like this…”

“And she’s talking about firing Mr. Robinson… She’s completely insane…”

Every face showed coldness, mockery, and betrayal.

I looked at each of them and memorized their faces.

Then I suddenly smiled.

I turned away from them, pulled out my phone, and dialed a number in front of everyone.

“You can come in now.”
