I Funded His Company And He Funded His Affair With My Money Chapter 04

I tucked the blanket around my mother and stood up, completely calm now.

“Take me to the company. Since backstabbers have already appeared by my side, I’ll get rid of them with my own hands.”

When I arrived at the company, employees who knew me stared at me with shocked and gossipy expressions.

“Why is Mrs. Robinson here?”

“She must have found out about Mr. Robinson and come to confront.”

“But she’s just a housewife. How is she supposed to fight Mr. Robinson? Honestly, she’d be better off just turning a blind eye. At least she’d still get to live like a rich lady…”

I looked straight ahead and paid no attention to any of them.

I was about to walk into Hayden’s office when someone stopped me.

It was a young woman I had never seen before. She looked at me with a sneer on her face. “This is not a place for people like you to enter freely. Get out right now.”

A nearby employee hurried to explain, “Joanie, this is Mrs. Robinson! Step aside at once.”

But the girl named Joanie did not feel scared at all after hearing this.

She even looked me up and down, then smiled contemptuously. “So you are Mrs. Robinson? At your age, no wonder he’s tired of you.”

“This is a company, not some place for you to throw a tantrum. My advice? Go back home before Mr. Robinson gets here. Wouldn’t want to upset him and end up getting kicked to the curb.”

The other employees buzzed with murmurs, their eyes fixed on me—some sympathetic, others hungry for drama.

I let out a cold laugh, signaled my bodyguards to hold Joanie down, and slapped her hard across the face. “Who do you think you are to block my way?”

Joanie stared at me in disbelief, then let out a shrill scream. “Who do I think I am? Do you even know who I am? How dare you hit me! I’m Nevaeh’s best friend! Just wait until she finds out—she’s going to destroy you!”

She let out a smug, arrogant laugh. “You old hag must be terrified that Nevaeh is going to take your place as Mrs. Robinson, so you came crawling over here, didn’t you?”

“Let me tell you something—if it weren’t for Nevaeh being too kind-hearted to let Mr. Robinson kick an old woman like you to the curb, you’d have packed your bags and been out on the street a long time ago!”

“You dare hit me? Just wait until Nevaeh gets back. She’ll have Mr. Robinson divorce you on the spot and send you packing with nothing!”

I curled my lips into a smile and patted her cheek lightly. “Then you’d better call them right now and tell them to get their asses over here. I’m here to divorce Hayden today, but the one who will leave with nothing is him, not me.”

I knew someone had tipped Hayden off the moment I stepped into the building.

Right after I spoke, a rush of footsteps approached.

Hayden hurried back with Nevaeh.

The moment he saw me, Hayden’s face stiffened slightly. He grabbed my hand and tried to pull me away. “Whatever this is about, let’s go home and talk about it.”

I pulled my hand away sharply. “We are talking right here!”

Nevaeh held the red-faced Joanie and burst into tears. “Mrs. Robinson! I know you’re only storming into the company like this because you’re angry that I put a limit on your spending.”

“But you really are wasteful and extravagant! The company’s total profit for the whole year is just a few tens of millions, yet a single necklace of yours costs over ten million!”

“And that’s not even mentioning how you’re constantly transferring money out of Mr. Robinson’s account to go shopping. Sure, right now it’s just a coffee you’re buying. But what about the future?”

“If I don’t stop you now, one day you might just transfer tens of millions right out of the company’s account. What would happen to the company then?”

“I know you’re angry with me. It’s only right that you hit me and yell at me. But you shouldn’t take it out on other employees.”

“And you definitely shouldn’t take it out on my sick mother! How could you have someone throw my mother out of the hospital? Do you have any idea that my mother almost died?”

As soon as she finished speaking, the staff who had felt sympathy for me turned to look at me with contempt. “Oh my god, how could she be so awful?”

Hayden’s face changed completely. “Blake Spencer! Have you finished making a scene? Nevaeh limited your spending for the good of the company!”

“If you have a problem with that, come at me! Why are you making things difficult for her? If you keep making a scene like this, I really can’t go on with you anymore.”

I let out a cold laugh and threw down the Instagram screenshots. “Are you unable to go on with me for the sake of the company, or is it because you want your beloved Nevaeh to take my place?”

“What nonsense are you talking about!” Hayden raised his voice in a bluster, trying to sound tough. “Don’t spread rumors about a young girl like that!”

I pulled a prenatal check report out of my bag and threw it at his face. “Nevaeh is pregnant! She is carrying your child! Are you still going to tell me I’m making things up?”

“You even signed a guarantee promising to give your unborn child five percent of the company shares once it is born!”

Hayden held the prenatal report with no sign of guilt or embarrassment on his face.

He looked at me and sighed helplessly. “Since you already know, I’ll not hide it from you anymore. Even though Nevaeh is carrying my child, I’m not going to divorce you. Once her baby is born, I’ll just bring the child home for you to raise alongside our own.”

“If you have a problem with it, I’ll find a separate place for her and the baby. They won’t be anywhere near you.”

“As for those shares, they’re just a means of support for her and the child. Don’t worry, the company will still go to our children.”

I was so furious that I let out a bitter laugh. “Hayden, who do you think you are to touch the company’s shares? What makes you think I would agree to this?”

Hayden’s face turned cold and stern. “Then we will get divorced. Don’t forget that we never signed a prenuptial agreement. Even in court, I’m entitled to half of the company and all assets.”

“You have been a housewife for years and probably don’t know that I have already taken full control of the company! That tiny amount of shares you hold can’t shake my grip on the company at all. Never mind giving her a few shares, I could give the whole company to Nevaeh’s baby.

I burst out laughing. “You seem to have forgotten. We didn’t just get married like any other couple—you became a live-in husband in my family. My assets have nothing whatsoever to do with you.”

“After having you work for me for five years, you appear to have forgotten who the real owner of this company is.”

I let out a sharp, cold command, “Hayden! We’re getting a divorce. You’re leaving with nothing.”

“Now! As the owner of Valence Global, I’m firing both of you! Security! Throw these two people out at once!”
