I Froze for 4 Hours Outside While He Threw a Party with Her Chapter 05

Julian and I had indeed been good together once.

Back in high school after evening study sessions, he would cross city districts just to walk me home first.

When we were traveling abroad and got everything stolen, waiting for it to be processed,

we had only three hundred dollars left. Julian himself only drank water, but he insisted on spending that three hundred to let me have a decent meal.

Right after college graduation, he put a ring on my finger. He said he loved me. He said I could be willful with him my whole life, and he would always comfort me. I hated the smell of smoke. In the past, Julian never once smoked in front of me.

During our worst fight ever, I happened to be away on a business trip to another city. Julian chased after me overnight, held me, and said wherever I was, he would come find me.

In those moments, he had loved me.

Grandma stroked my head. “Stella, let’s go back to our own home, okay?”

I stopped crying. I nodded my head, unable to stop.

“Okay. I want to go home.”

Julian came to the hospital. But not to visit.

What goes around comes around.

This time, what got posted online was him and Mia.

The lingering heat from my last video with Julian hadn’t yet dissipated.

Quite a few people still remembered me as the accused dramatic girlfriend.

Now, as if there was a twist, their tongues turned toward Julian and Mia.

His expression was indifferent.

“I already had someone delete the video.”

“Mia has also already explained. She and I are just friends.”

“But right now, her comments and private messages still have quite a few people misunderstanding and attacking her.”

“You need to clarify things. Just say that your grandmother fell by accident. It had nothing to do with Mia.”

“And also that Mia and I are just friends, as you know. There’s nothing ambiguous going on.”

“After all, it was your grandmother who insulted her first.”

Mia called. Her voice carried a sob. “Julian, has she agreed to help clear my name?”

“Right now, so many people are attacking me. I’m so upset. Can you hurry back and be with me?”

Julian lowered his brows.

“You heard her?”

“Mia’s in a really bad state right now. Don’t drag other people into the issues between us.”

I laughed, full of mockery.

“Didn’t you say this kind of thing is just getting yelled at a few times through a screen? It’s no big deal?”

Julian gestured for me to stop before I went too far.

“Don’t be so melodramatic. You were fine before, weren’t you?”

“Stella, don’t be this suffocating. At a time like this, you’re still fixated on your petty jealous little thoughts.”

It seemed he didn’t want to say another word to me. He made a move as if to take my phone directly.

I stepped back, putting distance between us.

“No need. I’ll do the posting.”

Julian froze, then withdrew his hand.

His phone was still vibrating nonstop. Mia was presumably urging him.

On his contacts page, my chat window was squeezed toward the back. It had been set to Do Not Disturb.

Since I had already agreed to post, he couldn’t be bothered to stay any longer.

After Julian left, I took my grandmother and checked out of the hospital.

The drive from the hospital to my home passed by the home Julian and I had shared before.

But the car quickly drove on, leaving the familiar place behind.

I opened my phone, composed the content, and hit send.

In less than ten minutes, my phone started vibrating like crazy.

People I knew well and people I barely knew—all of them.

Julian, who hadn’t initiated a message with me in a very long time, sent dozens in a row.

The last voice message carried anger he couldn’t suppress.

“Stella, what the hell did you post?”

“What do you mean by this?”
