I Crashed His Car, Then He Crashed My Life Chapter 07

The result of waking up after drinking cheap, suspiciously strong liquor was that my head felt like it had spent the night tumbling inside a dryer

I walked out of the bedroom holding my head.

Then I saw Xavier wearing an apron and cooking in the kitchen.

I fell into deep thought.

“Why are you here?”

He glanced sideways at me, lazy amusement in his eyes.

His tone was as relaxed as morning LA sunshine.

“I’m the one Grace bought back for $5.”

My memories returned instantly.

I only remembered pinning the boy in front of me onto the couch last night and kissing him very

unreasonably.

I slowly opened my mouth, trying to explain that it was just a dare.

Before I could finish, Xavier drew in a soft breath and frowned slightly.

“Grace, could you be gentler next time? My mouth hurts.”

“My collarbone hurts too.”

“And my chest…”

I said, “…”

I coughed guiltily.

In my heart, I cursed myself for being so useless.

Pretty faces are dangerous.

What did an innocent girl like me ever do wrong?

The fault was his face being illegally good.

I rushed to catch my afternoon elective.

Campus was unusually lively.

There were especially many people today.

My roommate group chat was tagging me nonstop.

“Gracie, do you know? Huge news! A Hollywood production is coming to our campus to shoot scenes. The

male lead is that rising actor Kieran Blake!”

“He’s super hot!”

Seeing that name, my brows twitched.

I was not excited at all.

A qualified ex should stay quiet like he was dead.

Unfortunately, some people did not even have that basic professional standard.

After class, I went to the faculty office building to deliver survey forms.

When I passed the empty equipment room, a hand suddenly reached out and dragged me inside.

When I saw Kieran Blake wearing a mask, I said coldly, “Let go.”

Kieran sighed.

“Still mad at me?”

“Gracie, I’ve been too busy lately. Do you know how hard it was for me to get this opportunity today?”

“Coming back here and seeing you feels like fate giving me a 2nd chance. 2 years ago, I was in a career growth period. Breaking up with you was unavoidable.”

“You understand, right?”

“I know you couldn’t let me go either.”

A wave of nausea rolled through me, and I let out a cold laugh.

I really had nothing to say to a cheating ex.

Kieran blocked me and refused to let me leave.

Just as I was about to yell for help, the door of the equipment room was kicked open.

Xavier stood in the doorway.

His face looked so grim that the equipment room might become a crime scene at any second.

He glanced at Kieran coldly.

“Your manager is looking for you.”

Kieran looked at me once, then left quickly.

Xavier stared hard at me, an unreadable smile at the corner of his mouth.

I poked his arm and asked tentatively, “That guy is so annoying. Glad he’s gone. What’s wrong? Are you… angry?”

He shook his head helplessly.

“Why would I be? I was just worried he might hurt Grace.”

I thought about it.

Then I gave him a standard 8-tooth smile.

“Thank you, Xavier. You’re such a good person.”

The boy’s smile froze on his face.

He lowered his eyes to look at me, and his gaze darkened little by little.

“Grace, shouldn’t a good person get a reward?”

I asked, “What do you want?”

He leaned down slightly and stared at me, a dangerous edge slipping into his brows.

The next second, my breath was taken forcefully.

I wrapped my arms around his neck in a daze.

He kissed me even harder.
