I Crashed His Car, Then He Crashed My Life Chapter 02

A charming smile hung on his lips.

“Sis, what time is your flight?”

Then his gaze landed on me.

“Good evening, Miss Harper.”

I smiled back.

“Hi.”

Sienna stepped in front of me and slowly raised a very unladylike middle finger.

“Wow. Look who learned how to talk like a human.”

Xavier tugged at the corner of his mouth and tried very hard to keep smiling.

As boarding time approached, Sienna dragged her brother aside and whispered something secretive to him.

When she came back, she gave me one last hug.

Watching her walk away and look back every few steps, I still could not hold back my tears.

A slender, well-defined hand reached over from beside me.

Xavier held a tissue in front of me.

“Miss Harper, don’t be sad. My sister will definitely come back often.”

Meeting those alluring eyes, I nodded without thinking.

Xavier tilted his head and said with a serious face, “Miss Harper, I’ll drive you home.”

“My sister specifically told me to take good care of you after she leaves.”

I nodded.

“Thank you.”

After I got into his passenger seat, I saw the last messages Sienna sent before takeoff.

“I’ll miss you, babe! It’s about to rain outside. It’s not safe for you to drive yourself, so I told that little jerk to take you home.”

“I already warned him to stay away from you. That shady little menace definitely has bad intentions. He’s not even worthy of being your golden retriever!”

Thinking of what someone had just said, I fell into deep thought.

By the time we reached my off-campus apartment in Westwood, the rain was falling so hard it was like LA had finally remembered it had a weather system.

The car suddenly stalled and completely broke down.

Xavier frowned, and even that looked annoyingly good.

“Miss Harper, this rain probably won’t stop soon. I’ll walk you upstairs first.”

“There’s no umbrella in the car, so you may have to put up with this.”

I fumbled in the dark to unbuckle my seat belt.

The next second, Xavier had already taken off his clearly expensive jacket and held it over my head.

We ran all the way into the apartment building.

Only after we entered the downstairs lobby did I realize he was almost completely soaked.

His white T-shirt clung to his body, faintly revealing the smooth muscle lines of his abs.

I froze for a second.

He looked terribly disheveled right now.

But he did not seem to care at all.

He only swept his wet hair back casually and smiled at me.

“Grace, go upstairs. Remember to drink some hot tea.”

Thinking of how he had shielded me from the rain the entire way, I suddenly felt guilty.

And his car was still broken down outside.

“Then how are you getting home?”

His eyes shifted slightly.

He said with hesitation and innocence, “It’s okay. I’ll just stay in the car.”

I thought for a moment.

“Come upstairs with me.”

“It’s cold. Don’t freeze.”

His eyes moved faintly, and he nodded obediently.

Then he silently followed behind me.

In the dim hallway, where I did not notice, the boy’s pale red lips curved slightly.

It was like he had finally gotten the answer he wanted.
