His Memory Reset To Love, My Heart Stuck At Goodbye Chapter 06

All the things he had adamantly refused to admit had really happened. 

He remembered being caught cheating, the moment Vivian’s 

face drained of color. 

He remembered her pinned on the stage, her eyes full of despair and hatred. 

He remembered seeing her eyes dim as she watched him 

play happily with Liam and Selina, like a family. 

Before the accident, he hadn’t felt guilt. To him, feelings 

changed all the time, he didn’t see anything wrong with it. 

But waking up again, with all the deep love for Vivian from 

six years ago restored, he realized how many chances he had 

to handle that love properly. 

He could have spared her the cruel hurt. 

He couldn’t again shamelessly plead for forgiveness like he 

did during amnesia. 

He knew at the very least, he had to correct the wrongs he’d 

done, one by one. 

The first step: give her the title, and the public respect that 

should have been hers all along. 

“No, Mrs. Black isn’t home,” the assistant stammered. 

“Someone said they saw her heading to the airport.” 

The wine glass in Alexander’s hand crashed to the floor. 

Liam, following him, jumped in surprise and tugged on his 

sleeve. “Daddy…” 

Alexander ignored him and bolted toward the exit. 

Selina blocked him. “Don’t go! You’ve regained your memory, are you really going to get involved with her again?” 

Her face was full of grievance, tears brimming in her eyes. 

He stopped mid–step. 

He remembered, years ago, just because she was unhappy, he would leave Vivian right after giving birth and whisk Selina 

away to Italy. 

Facing Vivian’s questioning, he once looked at her child in her arms and said lightly, “You already have a child. Isn’t that 

enough for you?” 

Even the names he had imagined a million times for children he and Vivian might have, he spoke now in a tone that 

sounded more like charity than love. 

“Consider this name an acknowledgment of our love.” 

From that day, no matter how excessively he acted, she stopped reacting altogether, quietly lowering her gaze and 

caring for their child wholeheartedly. 

Liam stood awkwardly, remembering faint sounds from his 

mom’s room that morning. 

His face suddenly went pale. “Did Mom leave because she 

heard the wish I made?” 

Alexander felt a pang of foreboding. “What wish did you 

make?” 

“I said… I wanted Mom to disappear… and Selina to be my 

mommy.” 

Alexander clenched his eyes shut and slammed his fist on 

the table. 

The champagne tower wobbled, shattering across the floor 

in chaos. 

He ignored the bleeding on his hand, but regret tore through him, sharp and relentless, until he could barely breathe. 

How could he have taken away the child she nearly died to bring into the world? 

Half laughing, half breaking down, he staggered toward the 

door. 

Selina leapt forward, pressing his hand to her belly. “I’m already carrying your child. Are you really going to abandon me and the baby for Vivian?” 

Tears fell like raindrops. “Forget Vivian… can we start over?” 

That day’s mess ended with Alexander suppressing all the 

news. 

He told himself he couldn’t hurt both of them. 

He left the house full of Vivian’s traces, moved in with Selina, 

and started learning to cook, reading parenting books, and 

decorating the nursery with his own hands. 

But looking at the soft blue walls, he suddenly remembered 

a bright afternoon long ago: Vivian flying a kite, ranting 

angrily about a story she’d just read. 

He had laughed, teasing her, “What if I fall out of love? What 

would you do then?”
