His Memory Reset To Love, My Heart Stuck At Goodbye Chapter 02

His Memory Reset To Love, My Heart Stuck At Goodbye Chapter 02

“Alexander.” I faced him.

“S he’s not easy to win over. If you go after her now, you might still catch up.”

The smile on his face froze instantly.

I didn’t have the patience to play dumb with him.

Alexander had always been clever. Even with amnesia, he could read the changes around him.

In the VIP hospital room, my cold, distant attitude spoke volumes.

Everything showed that in these six years he had forgotten me.

He was no longer the broke kid who relied on my parents’ money to chase his music dream.

His true love had long shifted from me to the lead singer, Selina, whom he championed.

“It can’t be, Vivi.”

He reached for my hand, panicked.

“From six to twenty-two, my dream was always to marry you.”

“And you even gave up your own future for me.”

“How could I possibly fall for anyone else…”

Yes. Back then, both Alexander and I had received an offer to study abroad.

But only one slot remained. Someone had to step aside.

On the day I saw him off at the airport, he swore through tears never to betray me, promising to bring all the good things in the world to me.

But later… the all-night fireworks, the cabinet full of designer bags, even the six months of music scores I’d written, all had been gifts Alexander personally gave to Selina.

And what did I get in return? Only a child who didn’t love me.

When we got home, Liam ran out first. Not seeing Selina, he was visibly disappointed.

“Daddy, isn’t Selina singing for me tonight? I still want to give her flowers.”

Seeing the bouquet in his little hands, I stepped back, laughing bitterly at myself.

After all I’d gone through to bring this child into the world, he only remembered Selina loved flowers, never that I was allergic to pollen.

I brushed past them to go upstairs, but Liam blocked me, annoyed.

“You’re the one keeping Selina away!”

“She was right, people like you always end up causing trouble!”

Before I could react, he ripped my mask off.

Instinctively, I covered my face.

But the scar across my cheek was glaringly obvious.

Alexander froze, struck as if by lightning.

Of course, he was shocked.

I had once been obsessed with beauty, crying over a single pimple.

Back then, Alexander would run across town, sweating, just to get me some cream for it.

But now, nothing could fix this old wound.

Thankfully, the caregiving stipend from Selina gave me the chance to book surgery.

In just three days, this scar that had accompanied me for three years would be gone, along with this marriage no longer worth cherishing.

I bent down, picked up my dirty mask, and turned silently.

Alexander suddenly grabbed my wrist.

His eyes were bloodshot, as if he hurt even more than I did.

“Who hurt you?”

Liam jumped in.

“I know! I know, Daddy! You said… it’s Mommy getting punished for trying to ruin Selina’s stage…”

“Shut up! Who let you talk about your mom like that?!”

Veins bulging on his forehead, Alexander roared.

Liam had never seen this side of him, shrinking his shoulders, face panicked.

He glanced at me instinctively.

As a child, when Liam misbehaved and Alexander scolded him, I’d always protect him, soothing him softly.

But now, seeing me stand motionless, he couldn’t hold back and began to cry.

Alexander didn’t comfort him.

“Vivi… I don’t know why the me before amnesia treated you this way.”

“But if this is real…”

His hand trembled as it held mine.

“I’d rather you had killed me the moment I cheated on you…”
