His ‘Love Coach’ Planned Every Step of Our Relationship, She Also Planned Its End Chapter 09

But Darcy didn’t turn on her heel and leave as he wanted. Instead, with her eyes welling with tears, she anchored herself firmly in the doorway.

“I saw it with my own eyes, Logan. She’s with another man now. Since she’s finally gone, why can’t you just accept reality and be with me?”

Logan hadn’t anticipated her laying her cards on the table so bluntly, and for a fraction of a second, he was entirely caught off guard. He could only scramble for her previous excuses to push her back.

“What about your crush? Didn’t you tell me that having me stage that confession was just a tactic to make him jealous?”

Seeing that the only obstacle standing between them had finally cleared out, Darcy decided to strip away the performance entirely.

“There is no crush. I just needed a plausible excuse to finally hear you say those words to me.”

Even though they had hidden behind the titles of ‘bros’ and ‘wingman’ to indulge in every imaginable intimacy, hearing Darcy explicitly lay out her feelings still sent a jolt of pure shock through Logan’s chest.

Once he found his footing, he shut her down with absolute finality.

“You’re always throwing yourself into crowds of guys. You’re completely outside my standards for a real partner. There is zero chance of us ever happening. The only girl I have ever truly loved, from the very beginning, is Sylvia.”

Over the years, exploiting her title as his relationship coach, she had blurred the lines relentlessly. Holding hands, kissing—they had crossed every boundary in the book.

Darcy had genuinely nursed the illusion that after waiting out these five years, it was finally her turn.

But Logan’s brutal honesty hit her like a sudden crack of thunder, violently shattering her delusions.

He had spent all this time playing the ‘bro’ card, soaking up the cheap thrill of her proximity—so how on earth did he suddenly have the right to look down on her for hanging around guys?

Staring at the sanctimonious man standing before her, Darcy realized she had never truly seen him for what he was.

He didn’t love me, and he didn’t love her. He was a man who simply wanted to have his cake and eat it too, a man whose sole devotion belonged to his own ego.

Looking at the man desperately trying to cut ties with her, a blinding, absolute hatred consumed Darcy’s heart.

What right did he have to put on this tragic, deeply devoted act? What made him think that tossing her aside like garbage suddenly bought him a ticket to my forgiveness?

If her life was going to be a miserable wreck, she was damn well going to make sure Logan burned right alongside her. Darcy stepped right into his space, tearing his fragile delusions to shreds, syllable by syllable.

“What right do you have to say you love her? I throw out a single internet cliché, and you keep her hidden in the shadows for five whole years. ‘Don’t make it Instagram official if you’re not sure it’ll last.’ Logan, you were always so impossibly obedient to my rules. It almost looks like you loved me more, doesn’t it?”

As her unhinged laughter filled the room, the brutal truth finally pierced through Logan’s denial.

Every single “strategy” she had mapped out over the years to make me miserable had been entirely, calculatedly intentional.

Every tear I had cried, every desperate plea I had made about feeling pushed out—it had all been terrifyingly, absolutely real.

And he was the idiot who had swallowed Darcy’s toxic lies hook, line, and sinker, subjecting the girl he loved to pure agony.

The realization left him suffocating under a wave of absolute self-loathing. Lunging forward, he clamped his hand around Darcy’s jaw, squeezing with enough violent force to crack bone.

“Shut the hell up!”

But Darcy refused to let him escape. Watching him twist in agony only fueled her malice; she bared her teeth, tearing open the one truth he was terrified to face.

“She is never going to forgive you! You will never, ever get the chance to be with her again!”
