His ‘Love Coach’ Planned Every Step of Our Relationship, She Also Planned Its End Chapter 02

Maybe it was because I had threatened to break up with him, but the next day, Logan did something entirely out of character. He offered to take me to a hangout with his inner circle.

“Darcy only wanted to give you a sense of urgency, stop being mad,” he said, using that same old line. “I know you’ve been dying for us to go public. Satisfied now that I’m introducing you to my friends today?”

He was finally willing to bring me into his world, yet I couldn’t bring myself to feel happy. My mind kept spiraling, wondering just how much Darcy had pulled the strings behind this decision, too.

But in the end, I didn’t refuse. Since I had already resolved to leave, I might as well see exactly how rotten this relationship had become.

When we arrived at the venue, everyone was crowded around Darcy, chatting and laughing; not a single soul spared me a glance.

At the table, there was only one proper seat left, right next to a cheap plastic stool beside Darcy.

Looking a bit awkward, Logan grabbed the plastic stool, intending to pull it over so we could sit together at the empty spot.

But Darcy cut him off.

“Bro, chicks or your boys?” she called out. “Even a total simp wouldn’t whip themselves around like that. Let Lady Logan sit with me.”

With those words, she completely backed Logan into a corner in front of everyone.

I watched him quietly, waiting for his choice.

I got my answer when the plastic stool ended up beneath me, while his silhouette slid right into the empty seat among his bros.

Sitting on that plastic stool, watching Logan walk away to the opposite side of the table, memories of five years ago suddenly flashed through my mind.

Back then, when we had just started dating, he was so devoted that he would wait outside my dorm building every single night until lights out.

Someone had half-jokingly posted a picture of him on our university’s Campus Crush page, teasing him for being a pathetic simp.

Yet Logan had proudly owned that less-than-flattering title in the comments section.

[If treating my girl right makes me a simp, then consider me the biggest simp on earth.]

But now, everything had changed.

As I sat there dazed, Darcy suddenly nudged my arm with a sly grin.

“You know, guys, don’t let how reserved she acts in public fool you. Wifey is incredibly clingy behind closed doors.”

With that, she pitched her voice high, mockingly reciting the texts I had sent Logan.

“Logan, can you please just spare me a second?”

“Logan, I really want to make things work between us. Can you stop being so cold?”

Her over-the-top, dramatic performance drew a roar of laughter from the entire table.

Unable to suppress the fury burning in my chest any longer, I demanded coldly, “Could you show some respect for my privacy?”

Darcy simply rolled her eyes.

“Privacy? Honey, which of those texts didn’t we help him reply to?” she scoffed. “I leaked your chat logs to our group chat ages ago. The boys are already sick of reading them.”

So the vulnerability I had shown only to Logan had long since become nothing more than a cheap, running joke for his friends.

At that moment, the suffocating wave of humiliation made it hard to breathe. Amidst the barrage of mockery and snickers, I looked at Logan silently, hoping he would put an end to this farce.

Instead, all I got was Darcy escalating the humiliation.

“What, are you going to tattle on him now?” she sneered. “You know, when we first started out, he didn’t even know how to breathe while kissing. I practically built his kissing skills from scratch. Technically speaking, you owe me a thank-you.”

What a phenomenal coach. She had even held his hand through learning how to kiss.

The realization that Darcy’s shadow had loomed over every single intimate moment Logan and I had shared over the years made my stomach violently churn.

Sick to my core, I couldn’t sit there for another second. I stood up and walked out.

Logan instinctively moved to chase after me, but Darcy barked at his back.

“Hold it right there. Are you a man or what?”

“She’s just playing hard to get, and you’re already running after her like a puppy? No wonder she wraps you around her finger.”

Hearing her words, I widened my stride.

I knew Logan wouldn’t follow. Over the years, whenever Darcy was involved, he had never stood by my side—not even once.

And I didn’t need him to anymore.
