His Donna Was Never Legally His Chapter 06

When Ava woke up, she was no longer forced to work as a servant.

Instead, she was confined inside the villa all day.

Once her injuries healed, she checked her application and saw that it would be approved in another week.

For the first time in days, she smiled.

Luca was rushed to the hospital after eating something that triggered an allergic reaction.

To avoid trouble, Ava stayed in her room.

Trouble still came looking for her.

Family guards kicked open her door and dragged her out by force.

In the main hall, Mia leaned against Matteo and cried.

“How could Ava be so cruel? No matter how much she hates me, Luca is only a child. How could she do something like that to him…”

Matteo stared coldly at Ava.

Ava frowned.

“No matter how you’re trying to frame me, I didn’t do anything. I didn’t even leave my room. You can ask someone to confirm it.”

Mia snapped, “Luca said he had an allergic reaction after eating the cake you sent him. Are you saying Luca is lying?”

Matteo frowned.

He looked at Ava, who had grown thinner by the day, and tightened his fingers.

“Can anyone prove you stayed in your room?”

Ava answered, “Anyone can. I never went near the kitchen.”

Matteo immediately ordered his men to question everyone one by one.

Not a single person spoke up for Ava.

The servant who had harassed her seized the opportunity to frame her.

He claimed he had personally seen Ava carrying a cake into Luca’s room.

Matteo’s face darkened.

He lowered his voice.

“Ava, you dared to go after my son?”

Ava sneered.

“You have no real evidence, yet you’re convicting me based on one person’s word?”

She stared directly at Mia.

“You were home at this time yesterday. How could you have let him eat a cake I supposedly sent? You staged the whole thing yourself.”

Mia stiffened.

Then she threw herself against Matteo’s shoulder and cried.

“Matteo, I suffered so much giving birth to Luca. I almost died on the operating table, and now she’s accusing me of something like this…”

Matteo comforted Mia for a moment before turning to Ava with a cold expression.

“You’ve never been a mother, so you don’t understand the bond between a mother and her son. And now you’re trying to frame Mia?”

Ava’s last trace of hope died.

They had taken away her chance to become a mother with their own hands.

They had destroyed any hope she had of becoming one in the future.

Matteo spoke coldly.

“You made Luca suffer, so you should pay the price.”

He ordered someone to bring over a jar of almond butter.

The family guards pinned Ava down and forced it into her mouth.

Ava’s eyes widened in terror.

“No, Matteo. I’ll die!”

Matteo’s face remained expressionless.

“I called the family doctor. You will not die.”

Half a jar of almond butter was forced down her throat.

Ava couldn’t breathe.

She thrashed on the floor in agony as her vision gradually darkened.

Before long, the doctor injected her with medication.

Matteo crouched in front of her, his voice hoarse.

“Did this teach you to behave?”

Ava trembled violently but still clenched her teeth.

“Get out!”

Matteo’s expression darkened.

He withdrew his hand, grabbed Mia, and strode away.

“Keep going. Stop when she finally gives in.”

Before Ava could catch her breath, more almond butter was forced down her throat.

They did it over and over until her mind blurred and she curled up on the floor.

Empty jars of almond butter surrounded her.

The family guards dragged her back to her room like a corpse and threw her inside.

Ava remained unconscious for 2 days before she finally woke up.

She felt someone gently touch her cheek.

When she opened her eyes, Matteo pulled his hand away and looked elsewhere.

His voice was cold.

“If you’re awake, get up. You’re coming back to the Moretti Estate with me.”

Every year, the Moretti Family returned to the Moretti Estate for Memorial Mass.

This year was no exception.

Ava closed her eyes.

Her throat still burned.

“I’m not going.”

Matteo’s voice turned colder.

“You’re my wife. You have to go.”
