His Dead Lover Came Back I Asked for Overtime Pay Chapter 19

His Dead Lover Came Back I Asked for Overtime Pay Chapter 19

The world was finally quiet.

I let out a long sigh and looked up at Ethan, my eyes sparkling.

“Mr. Collins, are we done?

Can you transfer my severance now?

I’m not greedy a couple million, whatever you think is fair.”

Ethan looked down at me, his eyes deep and unreadable.

“Chloe,” he said slowly, his voice carrying a gravity I’d never heard.

“Do you really think I spent three years putting you by Zachary’s side, then went to even greater lengths to take you back, just to watch a show?”

I was stunned.

My heart skipped. “What… what do you mean?”

He didn’t answer.

He took my hand and led me to the private elevator, up to the chairman’s office.

He pushed me into the plush chair, then pulled a thick stack of documents from the drawer and shoved them

in front of me. “Look.”

I picked them up with trepidation.

The title made me nearly jump out of my seat.

Asset Transfer Agreement – and a Marriage Registration Application already signed by him.

“Mr. Collins, what does this mean?” I stammered, the papers feeling like hot potatoes.

Ethan leaned over me, his hands on the armrests, trapping me.

“It means what it says.” He looked me in the eye, his voice hoarse and full of emotion.

“Those three years weren’t a probationary period for Zachary – they were a trial for you. I watched you

struggle in the mud, watched you have no scruples about money, and watched you stay clear and rational

throughout this job.”

He caressed my trembling lips.

“I don’t need a hypocritical first love or a parasitic woman. I need a partner who is clear-headed,

money-hungry, and will never betray me. You’ve passed.”

He pulled a dazzling diamond ring from his pocket and slipped it onto my finger – it fit perfectly. “All these

assets are your lifetime buyout. No more stand-in work. Will you take the deal to be Mrs. Collins?”

I looked at the huge diamond, then at the priceless asset transfer.

This wasn’t a paycheck – it was a license to print money.

I took a deep breath, threw my arms around his neck, and smiled from ear to ear.

“Mr. Collins, for an order this big – I’ll sign.”
