His Assistant Gave the Bride Rules?! She Didn’t Know Who She Was Messing With Chapter 05

Ryan’s chest heaved as he glared at me.

“Who the hell are you?”

He still couldn’t understand why the woman causing this scene wasn’t his bride, who was supposed

to be in the bridal suite.

I straightened and prepared to tell him exactly who I was.

Before I could speak, Chloe rushed in and cut me off.

One hand covered her reddened cheek. Her gaze traveled over my gown, and her mouth twisted

with mockery.

“I thought you might be someone important. You’re probably one of Claire’s broke relatives who showed up looking for a handout. That’s why you’re putting on this ridiculous act and ruining the

wedding.”

She jabbed a finger at the train of my dress.

“I know that designer’s work. The real couture gown doesn’t have a train like that.”

I glanced down at the exclusive cut that had been created for me alone.

Before I could explain, whispers spread through the guests.

Ryan gave a derisive laugh.

“Enough with the performance.”

He looked toward the hallway leading to the bridal suite and spoke like a man issuing an order to

his staff.

“Bring Claire here. I want to know what she was thinking, letting this woman crash our wedding and cause a scene. She owes me an explanation.”

Rather than waste any more time on him, I pulled a gold-embossed business card from my clutch

and held it up for him to see.

“You don’t need Claire. I’m the investor behind the funding for your company.”

My name and the Hartwell Capital logo were printed clearly on the card.

Ryan glanced down, snatched it from my hand, and tore it into pieces.

“The investor?”

He burst out laughing, as if I had told the funniest joke he’d ever heard.

“You’ve taken this act too far. You think you can print a random business card and impersonate my

vestor? Claire must have spent a fortune on this stunt just to control me.”

Chloe immediately joined in.

“That explains everything. She smashed my phone and attacked us because Claire paid her to cause a scene. She picked your wedding day on purpose so she could humiliate you in public and force you

to give in.

“Claire has gone way too far. No matter how upset she was, how could she hire someone to destroy her own wedding?”

With Ryan and Chloe feeding each other’s story, suspicion spread through the crowd.

“The bride sounds impossible. Couldn’t she have handled this in private instead of wrecking the whole wedding?”

“I almost feel sorry for Ryan. Other men get supportive wives. He got a spoiled princess.”

“He’d be better off marrying his assistant. She’s young, beautiful, and actually understands him.”

I looked down at the scraps of my business card and felt more certain than ever about withdrawing

the investment.

A man this arrogant and this easily manipulated by his assistant would run any company into the ground, no matter how much money I gave him.

I raised my head to speak, but a soft, confused voice came from the edge of the crowd.

“What’s going on? Why is everyone shouting?”

The guests turned toward the entrance.

Claire had just hurried out from the bridal suite in her white gown.

Her makeup was freshly done, and she stared at the disorder around her in shock.

She stopped, frowning at the commotion.

“What happened? How did the wedding turn into this?”
